Hi everybody,
I am a newbie to Planted Aquariums and relatively new to the fishes too..
Had done a little bit of research on plants and fishes and finally made my mind to set a lowtech planted tank.(intend to advance to highTech soon )
Here I look for advices and tips from experts, whom i saw here encouraging others, and surely will help to develop mine in to a better tank)
Following are the details of my tank which is been running for almost one and half month, and some snaps-
Tank Size- 80cmX40cmX40cm -DIY
Substrate- Soil for plants in granulated form and white gravel on top (from LFS)
Lighting- 4x20W CFL--Philips and 1x18W T5 Philips tube light. (both 6500k)- DIY
Filter- BOYU EF-10 Cannister( 300Ltr/Hr)
Co2- DIY with airstone
Fertilizers- Sera Florennete A and Sera flore plus Root tabs fortnightly, Sera macro nutrients day drops and once in a month
Tetra plantamin liquid fertilizer( which caused filamentous algae bloom, next time i'll use this with caution or probably
will switch to Sera florena liquid fertilizer )
Water Parameters- Unknown ( Intend to test it soon, Now using dechlorinated tap water with 15% - 20% weekly water changes)
Plants
Bacopa Caroliniana
Amazon Swords two types
Ludwigia Glandulosa
Valisneria Tortifolia
Anubias nana gold
Anacharis
Ambulia
Water Wisteria
Unknown (Similar to Amazon sword but with dark green brittle leaves, need advise)
Ludwigia Reineckii (i guess, need advise)
Fishes
Dwarf Gourami-1No.
Neon tetras-12Nos.
Male Guppy-1No. (1 female in QT & will join him soon)
guppy babies -7Nos (4weeks old)
Pics (sorry for the low quality)

Very neat ... but i do wish you had used a more natural gravel color. Otherwise ... super impressive!! |

Increase more plants, so far looks good.
Go easy with fertilization, your plant mass is low. |

thanks to all for the encouragement...
@Sergio- i just cut that piece of wood from a small dried out tree and boiled it for almost six hours. And then i attached anubias to it. (when i became obsessed with the need of a driftwood in my tank. Need to go for a collection trip)
@Sandeep- yes i'll try to increase plant mass. But i'm adding the fertilizers as prescribed on their instruction leaflets...
Might be usually on higher side, right? |
