 Hi  All,

I  thought  of  writing  the  header  as  Collection  trip  from  Kolhati  falls(Kalathigiri),Near  chikkamagalore(Its  not  a  typo;  I  had  learned  from  the  locals  that  it  is  Chikkamagalore  meaning  "granddaughters  place".I  thought  of  writing  it  here  because  till  recently  I  thought  it  was  Chikkamanglore  meaning  "small  Manglore"     ROFL     ).  But  then  I  have  had  done  collection  from  other  places  as  well.  So  thought  of  consolidating  it.

I  collected  it  from  2  places  and  bought  1  driftwood  from  Hebbal  (but  now  I  am  treating  it).

Below  are  the  places  and  the  things  I  collected  from  there.I  must  say  that  I  am  really  blessed  in  the  fact  that  my  parents  are  settled  in  Sagar,  Shivamogga  which  is  blessed  with  lots  of  rivers. It  is  just  30  Km  from  Jog  falls  so  if  our  guys  plan  for  a  collection  trip  You  can  stay  at  my  farmhouse.  We  can  have  a  celebration  there     Drinking   ........  though  its  only  a  small  place  we  can  adjust. As  in  Malayalam  we  say  "Oruma  undel  Olakkayilim  kidakkam"......I  cant  give  an  exact  translation  but  it  means  "if  you  have  unity  you  can  sleep  even  on  a  stick".  But  definitely  the  saying  is  not  meant  for  me   ROFL   until  it  can  hold  90kg.
 Ok  here  are  the  places
 1.  Jog  Falls   ::  I  collected  a  huge  drift  wood  from  there, which  I  had  to  do  a  1hr  shaping  work  to  reduce  its  and  my     Chuckle  size  and  weight.  I  did  it  yesterday  with  the  help  of  my  dad's  friend  and  worker  Paulose  chetan
 It  is  the  third  pic

 2.  Hebbal  ::  I  thought  of  not  including  this  place  as  I  had  'bought'  the  driftwood  from  here.Still  I  am  including  it  since  I  am  currently  in  the  process  of  boiling  it  as  the  wood  doesn't  seem  to  be  taken  from  a  waterbody.  I  have  been  to  atleast  6  places(jog  falls,3  rivers  with  flowing  water  over  rocks  near  sagar,Kolhati  falls, muthathi  falls)  but  could  never  find  a  root  structure  driftwood.Every  where  there  where  logs  of  wood  similar  to  the  one  I  collected  from  Jogfalls.  There  were  plenty  in  Kolhati  falls.  I  will  explain  it  in  when  I  describe  the  3rd  location.

It  is  also  little  I  needed  a  huge  vessel  to  boil  it  since  the  wood  was  having  a  dimension  of  1.5x1.75x2(LxBxH).  Luckily  my  dad  had  one  which  were  used  for  preparing  food  for  cows  in  our  old  diary  farm.  Also  we  had  lot  of  wood  which  my  dad  wanted  to  dispose  from  the  farm  after  he  had  cleared  the  area  while  planting  Rubber.  So  vessel  and  fuel  was  ready  by  the  grace  of  god  and  dad  was  happy  to  give  as  it  was  beneficial  for  him  as  well     Cheering     .Anyways  he  is  always  ready  to  help  me  on  my  madness.
So  I  have  boiled  the  wood  for  7hrs  yesterday  and  will  be  doing  another  round  tomorrow  as  well(today  on  rest   ).  My  parents  broke  into  tears  when  they  saw  there  son  working  hard  for  the  first  time  in  his  life     ROFL     .
After  the  boiling  I  will  keep  it  in  another  water  tank(which  is  used  for  irrigation  and  all  in  the  farm  so  water  change  on  free  Chuckle  )  until  I  get  enough  revenue  to  get  the  remaining  stuff  for  the  tank.

 It  is  the  second  pic

 3.  Kolhati  falls  ::  This  place  is  a  heaven  for  hard  scape  collectors.  I  must  say  an  ADA  shop  from  god.
After  seeing  my  excitement  my  mom  said  "Kanniney  kayam  kaanichapolundalloda"  meaning  "cattles  reaction  when  it  finds  a  river".  I  was  confused  which  to  pick.  There  where  driftwood  of  all  sizes  but  I  couldn't  find  any  root  structure  which  I  can  carry.  I  am  sure  we  can  find  many  If  we  do  a  thorough  search.  My  primary  focus  was  on  rocks  and  I  was  blessed  with  enough.
The  rocks  there  seem  to  be  sedimentary  rocks  (as  per  my  understanding).  It  has  layered  texture.
There  were  also  lots  and  lots  of  different  kinds  of  Moss  and  ferns  but  I  didn't  collect  much  As  I  am  sure  to  destroy  them.  I  don't  know  which  one  is  terrestrial  and  which  is  aquatic.
This  place  also  had  lots  of  terrestrial  plants  like  orchids  and  all.  Sure  it  is  a  heaven  for  people  who  love  plants.  My  Mom  could  understand  that  I  was  still  sane;  when  she  also  got  a  similar  reaction  from  herself  after  finding  the  plants  there     ROFL     .
We  collected  lots  of  money  plant  cuttings,  chilly  plants(we  call  it  "kanthari"  in  malayalam.  In  kannada  i  think  it  is  called  "choor  menasu"),5  varieties  of  flower  plants  including  anthurium.  There  were  lot  we  didn't  collect  as  I  had  filled  all  the  spaces  in  the  car  with  my  rocks   ROFL

 It  is  the  first  pic

 Thanks  a  lot  all....

@  sergio:  About  the  story  teller  part  I  am  learning  for  Nayak  gi  noww  ROFL   ROFL
Also  I  am  sorry  that  I  forgot  to  upload  the  picture  of  the  place.
I  have  got  only  two  photos  as  I  was  too  busy  collecting  the  rocks..  ROFL

In  the  second  picture  I  have  circled  a  mega  driftwood.  I  wished  I  had  a  good  electric  saw  to  take  a  piece  of  it...
When  I  was  staring  at  it.....  my  dad  looked  at  me  and  gave  me  a  phone  number  and  said  "This  is  the  number  of  a  lorry  driver.  I  think  you  need  them  to  transport  it"
He  read  my  mind  ROFL  ....  but  I  was  also  thinking  of  all  the  people  in  my  contact  list,  who  will  help  me  out  of  jail;  if  I  get  caught  while  trying  to  smuggle  it  ROFL
