Well,  after  months  and  months  of  struggle,  could  replicate  part  for
 PKs  automation.
Had  to  do  it  as  it  was  the  only  way  of  ensuring  all  things  will  work
when  I  am  away  at  work,  and  couldnt  irritate  people  at  home  to  on-off
 stuff.

Obvious  insiprational  links  first,  for  everything  has  been  nearly
replicated  from.  Links  are  exhaustive  for  all  that  you  need,  and  may
 be  more

 1.
 http://indianaquariumhobbyist.com/community/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=16868&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

 2.
 http://indianaquariumhobbyist.com/gallery2/v/User_Galleries/perikaruppan/

 Specs

 1.   16X2   Blue   LCD   display,  to  display  status  and  edit  the  power  times
 2.      POWER   -   Can   control   currently   8   power   outlets   (can
 increase   to   2^8  ,  256  if   needed        )
 3.   Got   3  button  keys   for   changing   the   Clock,   date,   Settings
of   Alarms,   setting   time   for   lights,   Setting   the   Power   on   or
Power   off   for   Power   Module,  peristaltic  dising  pumps.

 4.  PWM  option  for  sunrise  sun  set  optioin  of  my  LEDs.  Can  be  used  on
 any  D  type  LED  drivers.
with  3600levels  of  upping  and  downing,  individual  level  per  second.

So  best  I  could  implement,  still  trying  to  get  to  PKs  config,  waiting
for   temperaturs  sensor,  and  more  of  would  be  enough  for  my  planted
 tank  maintainance
Dont  have  the  data  logger  that  PK  used,  but  made  its  simplest  I  could  make.
Tons  of  possibility,  yet  to  be  covered,  let  me  know  what  extra  a  basic
 keeper  would  more  need.

Now  pics  to  go...  and  my  rant  to  shut.

 1.  Begining.  Coding  and  debugging  starts  Wink

 2.Tada,  its  working,  orbit  white

3.Initially  built  up  a  normal  panel  for  it,  but  dint  look  uber  cool  at
the  end,  this  is  how  it  was

4.This  was  the  standalone  that  I  ended  up  with,  ready  to  rumble,  just
need  to  plug  in  the  lights  and  theyl  glow

 5.  Then  later,  a  better  looking  one.

 6.  ready  to  connect  8  devices

 7.  LCD,  auto  mode  displaying  the  time,  day  and  status  of  power  modules

 8.  LCD,  when  setting  up  the  time  for  a  power  module

 9.  The  red  socket  on  top  left  for  the  PWM  input  to  LEDs

 10.  the  completed  thing  at  last,  with  the  3  pin  plug  to  power  all  the
stuff,  after  changing  to  a  more  durable  thick  wire.

 My  album  http://indianaquariumhobbyist.com/gallery2/v/User_Galleries/saikumar/DIY-Timer/?g2_GALLERYSID=178bb946978b3e63490390100841d033

Not  to  forget  the  old  4  power  module  timer,  its  still  working  Very Happy  after  big  one,  this  is  being  used  for  allout...  Helps  you  code  better,  and  oh  boy,  I  hate  machhar

 Cheers!

 Sudheer,
 (a)  8  devices,  absolutely  right.  8  of  them  can  be  switched  ON  at  different  times  and  different  day  of  the  week  too  if  needed.
 (b)  Wire  connectors?  the  bus  wire  kind  of  colourful  wire?  these  you  can  get  any  shop  who  ll  do  TV  repairs.  For  single  point  purchase,  Koti-Gujrati  galli.
