True  its  the  greenish  tint  and  lots  off  stuff  are  yet  to  be  taken  care  off,  hopefully  I  should  be  able  to  complete  the  pending  carpentry  work  by  next  weekend.  True  the  lights  are  bit  short  and  I  do  feel  the  corners  are  little  dark  will  tweak  the  reflectors  a  bit.

iv  been   using  ada  since  years  now  and  its  the  best  soil  but  the  only  prob  is  that  after  a  your  or  two,  it  becomes  very  muddy.  the  tiny  balls  breakdown  into  very  fine  particles.  this  time  ill  be  using  ada  as  the  bottom  layer  and  river  soil  as  the  to  layer.  lets  see......

No  doubt  about  ADA  I  have  used  it  in  my  earlier  smaller  setups  and  they  are  the  best  available  in  the  market.  I  went  in  for  a  chinese  brand  soil  because  50kg  ADA  would  have  cost  me  a  bomb.   Very Happy

Hello,  well  updating  my  thread  after  a  very  long  time.  The  older  scape  was  ruined  completly  while  we  were  out  of  station,  so  the  tank  was  shut  for  a  long  time.  Now  as  the  work  pressure  has  reduced  so  starting  it  once  again  fresh.

If  you  can  remember  I  made  a  mistake  by  drilling  the  side  glasses  and  the  pipes  were  bit  distracting  so  I  re-did  the  silicone  work  with  replaced  side  glass  and  a  drill  at  the  behind  for  the  outflow  from  the  canisters.  I  had  some  pooped  filled  (fertilized  I  must  say)  gravels  from  my  goldfish  tank  so  thought  to  put  it  as  a  base  and  then  top  it  off  with  the  black  soil.

 Ready  for  planting

For  this  scape  I  thought  to  work  more  with  rock  but  not  the  famous  Iwagumi  layout.  My  idea  was  to  place  XXXL  sized  rocks  and  then  cover  the  surroundings  with  a  foreground  and  few  stem  plants  behind  the  biggest  sized  rock.  From  visualization  point  of  view  its  looks  great  lets  see  how  much  I  can  make  my  idea  come  true.  I  guess  that  time  will  say   Smile

The  size  of  rocks  I  was  looking  for  would  cost  me  really  high  in  the  market  so  during  my  frequent  trips  to  Chennai  via  Chennai  -Hosur  Highway  I  noticed  huge  hills  being  cleared  for  road  widening  and  upon  enquiry  I  confirmed  that  these  rocks  are  safe  for  aquarium  use.  I  picked  up  some  huge  sized,  washed  it  and  treated  with  PP  for  a  day.  Then  started  to  place  it  in  the  tank.  Thanks  to  Shelly  for  helping  me  to  achieve  a  decent  look.

 My  first  placement  of  rocks

 After  correction.

I  must  say  that  my  last  scape  was  destroyed  due  to  lack  of  proper  fertilizer,  so  this  time  I  have  everything  in  hand  and  I  can  say  that  my  dosage  is  also  precise  using  this  method.

The  tank  is  currently  under  cycling  and  all  the  parameters  so  far  seems  okay  (especially  with  the  rock).  Will  keep  on  updating  as  it  progresses.  Thanks  for  reading.

Lovely...  nice  to  see  your  thread  active  again  Ruchit   Thumb Up
One  small  suggestion,  the  rock  arrangement  can  be  better  by  placing  the  biggest  rock  little  bit  towards  right  corner  and  rearrange  the  right  side  rocks.  Please  don't  mind  but  the  rock  arrangement  doesn't  go  with  your  tank.

 Hi  Ruchit,

+1  with  Kuna.  Even  I  feel  you  have  to  rethink  on  the  rocks  chosen  and  the  hardscape  done.....  I  am  really  sorry  if  I  am  hurting  you.  but  I  feel  you  needed  honest  suggestion  just  like  I  do  Smile(As  I  will  be  posting  my  scape  in  my  new  tank  in  a  month).  I  feel  the  rocks  are  too  plain  just  like  rocks  used  for  construction

You  have  got  such  good  imagination  that  you  have  made  a  real  good  achievement   in  the  technical  aspect  of  this  tank.
If  you  put  little  more  thinking  You  are  sure  to  achieve  tremendous  on  this  magnificent  setup  you  have.

I  am  sorry  again  if  at  any  way  I  hurt  you.  And  if  you  took  it  in  the  right  sense  please  let  me  know  the  substrate  brand  you  have  used  and  please  PM  me  the  price  of  it  Smile
