 Hi  All,

I  have  been  using  controsoil  for  a  while  and  have  used  it  with  german  clay.
All  the  time  I  was  having  scape  with  less  of  slope  or  elevation.

This  time  I  am  planning  for  a  good  amount  of  elevation  and  I  have  heard  from  many  people  that,  In  the  case  of  maintaining  an  elevation  contro  soil  has  some  problem.
Is  that  true  that,  in  controsoil,  elevation  is  goes  off  quickly  due  to  the  shape  of  the  granules(which  is  very  round  when  I  bought  them  a  year  back  don't  know  about  now).

If  yes  can  I  use  the  method  which  James  Findley  uses  in  most  of  his  scape  especially  the  famous  scape  "Reciprocity".In  that  he  keeps  some  sturdy  plastic  sheet  kind  of  thing  vertically   in  between  the  slope  and  covers  it  with  little  soil.  He  used  it  for  preventing  the  runners  of  plants  entering  the  other  plants  area  and  also  to  maintain  slope.  In  all  his  scapes,  he  uses  ADA.  So  wanted  to  confirm  if  it  works  for  contro  as  effectively  as  that.

Generally  on  slopes  there  will  be  lot  of  hard  scape  to  keep  the  slope  but  in  the  one  I  am  setting  up,  there  is  some  place  where  the  slope  is  little  steep  and  I  feel  the  hard-scape  is  not  enough.  I  have  not  done  the  scape  so  everything  is  in  mind  Smile   or  else  I  would  have  definitely  posted  a  picture.  I  have  to  buy  the  substrate  tomorrow  or  maximum  a  day  after  that(The  tank  and  all  came  in  a  2  weeks  back  and  I  was  caught  up  with  my  exams.  Now  I  cant  wait.  I  think  everyone  here  understands  my  pain)........so  a  quick  response  will  be  of  huuuuge  help.

 Nidhiii  Chuckle  ......  Chuckle

Its  very  sad  actually.....Whenever  somebody  asks  a  generic  question  we  tell  them  to  come  back  with  specific  question......but  when  ever  I  have  asked  a  specific  question  there  is  no  one  to  respond  Sad   Sad  ....

I  have  seen  many  IAH  ians  who  will  answer  me  to  my  previous  questions  when  I  Meet  them  but  no  one  is  ready  to  reply  on  posts.
It  is  sad  since  if  all  Our  experts  answered  it  in  the  posts  it  can  be  used  atleast  by  few  more  people  who  is  acessing  IAH  during  that  time

I  guess  the  problem  is  the  nearing  of  year-end,  I  am  finding  it  hard  to  find  free  time  since  last  few  weeks  because  of  this..
I  could  not  even  go  to  the  IAH  meet  at  cubbon  park..  Crying or Very sad

 @  Jaiby,

I  had  tried  the  same  method  in  my  nano  tank.  And  I  was  successful  in  maintaining  the  slope  in  my  tank.

I  had  used  the  mosquito  net  in  my  scape.  I  cut  the  net  in  1"  width.  Since  the  net  is  flexible,  you  can  use  it  in  the  way  you  need.
