I  dont  think  so  it  was  killed  by  moth.  There  must  be  some  other  reason.  What  was  the  water  temperature?  Did  you  notice  any  thing  other  then  moth?  I  think  this  is  because  of  some  stress  or  some  infection  .

Sorry  to  hear  that..  something  went  wrong  before  the  moth  showed  up  I  guess.  moths  are  not  carnivorous  but  nectar  feeders.
Be  care  full  next  time  and  watch  out  for  any  abnormal  signs  which  will  help  you  in  diagnosing  problem  in  the  early  stages..

Moth  can't  kill  a  betta.  Unless  betta  is  chocked  or  infected  by  a  disease.

Oh,  I  do  use  bore  water..and  filtered  and  conditioned.  He  was  well  the  entire  day.  Out  and  about  as  his  usual  self.  How  can  he  contract  something  the  next  day  itself?  The  temp  has  been  around  26-27  as  usual.  Sometimes  its  been  around  28.Thats  max.  but  that  never  affected  him,  I  have  had  him  for  a  good  3  months  now  and  he  has  been  extremely  healthy.

If  he  died  not  because  of  a  moth,  then  I  dont  know..because  I  have  maintained  the  water  in  good  condition..and  I  dont  have  any  testing  kits  to  tell.  But  this  is  my  assurance  -  its  the  water  I  have  used  for  months  and  its  been  fine  so  far.

girlcookart,  what  filtering  are  you  using..  is  it  RO  or  regular  candle  based  filter.
I  would  suggest  against  use  of  any  kind  of  filtering,  just  use  the  conditioner..

 Tough  luck  !!!!
It  is  perplexing  to  have  a  loss  ,even  when  best  conditions  are  provided.
Water  could  be  the  culprit  here...when  was  your  last  water  change  and  how  much  of  it

 Hi,

Sorry  for  Sobu  as  well  as  you........I  think  water  became  poisonous  due  that  Moth....Why  I  am  saying  same  thing  was  happed  with  me  twice.  1st  time  I  lost  me  betta  (moth).  But  second  time  same  thing  happened.  When  I  reached  home  I  have  seen  the  on  the  surface  of  the  water  &  my  betta  chasing  the  moth.  I  immediate  remove  the  moth  and  done  the  WC  100%.  My  HM  betta  was  fine.

Any  next  time  be  careful....take  it  easy...
