hey  guys,  this  is  not  a  confirmed  trip  but,  if  i  get  permission  from  my  grand  dad  it  will  happen.  i  will  let  you  know  when  i  get  confirmation.

 details:
PLACE:  KGF  (kolar  district,  karnataka)  92kms  from  bangalore
TRAVEL:  by  bus  from  majestic.  (ticket  one  way-  Rs72)
 TIME:  some  time  this  month

there  are  two  big  sump  like  tanks  in  my  family  temple  in  KGF(kolar  gold  fields)  one  is  11  feet  deep  and  the  other  is  3  feet  deep.  there  are  1000+  guppies  and  100+  molies.  the  tanks  are  getting  over-crowded  and  so  the  temple  people  want  to  place  some  predators  to  kill  the  fish.  so  i  thought  i'd  take  out  few  fish.

the  guppies  are  not  the  ones  you  find  in  LFS,  these  are  proper  singapore  guppies  (albinos,  golden,  red  moscow,  swordtailed,  leoaprds  etc.)
there  are  few  types  as  mollies  as  well,  (orange,  black,  white  and  dalmation)  i  think  there  were  few  balloon  mollies  well.  the  mollies  have  started  to  interbreed  and  new  colors  are  popping  up.

catching  them  is  very  easy,  we  just  need  a  big  net.  i  don't  know  how  to  roperly  pack  so  many  though,  maybe  few  jars  or  big  packets?

if  any  of  you  are  interested  you  can  pm  me.  i  will  let  you  know  the  other  details  once  i  get  this  confirmed.

I  wish  I  could  come...  Sad

However,  one  humble  request.  If  this  trip  happens,  try  and  take  few  pics  before  you  actually  remove  them  from  those  ponds  etc.

 @navneethtk

Great.  Actually  I  was  interested  because  from  the  very  beginning  of  my  hobby  I  have  been  keeping  Livebearers.

There  was  a  time  when  my  tank  only  had  Mollies,  you  name  it  and  I  had  it  -  Black,  White,  Golden,  Lyre  tail,  Baloon,  Guppy  tail  mollies  etc.

For  whatever  reasons,  my  Molly  breeding  project  did  not  work  out  well  &  one  day,  I  saw  Full  red  guppy  in  one  of  LFS  store.  That  kind  of  triggered  the  movement  from  Mollies  to  Guppies.

And  guess  what,  now  I  do  have  some  of  the  finest  fancy  guppies  &  My  breeding  project  has  also  shaping  up  well.

I  do  not  have  a  large  tank  setups  but  yes,  my  guppies  are  born  &  grown  out  from  1  -  2  feeter  tanks  &  now  I  already  have  6-7  Adult  Guppy  females  &  3-4  Adult  guppy  mailes  along  with  approximately  100+  fries.

haha  me  too!  i  had  started  with  20  guppies  and  in  3  months  i  had  over  300  fry!  over-crowded  so  i  released  them  in  my  friend's  pond!  i  did  selective  interbreeding  and  got  such  amazing  colors  and  tails!  but  now  i'm  only  into  shrimps  XD

Interesting.  Watching  guppies  grow  slowly  from  a  small  fry  is  indeed  a  great  experience,  especially  when  they  are  tiny  little  colorless  to  begin  with  and  then  show  great  color  &  tails.

I  think  for  me  too,  the  time  will  come  where  I  need  to  give  away  some  of  these  guppies  to  either  LFS  here  in  my  city  or  to  some  of  my  friends  who  like  to  keep  guppies  in  their  Aquarium.

i  wouldn't  give  it  to  LFS,  those  cheap  buggers  give  only  4-5  bucks  a  fish  -.-  i  had  red  moscows,  snake  skin  guppies,  flame  tails  and  all!  now  they're  chillin  in  a  pond  Razz  multiplying  like  rabbits!!

Yes,  giving  it  away  to  your  friend  or  moving  it  to  pond  is  better  option  on  any  given  day,  instead  of  selling  it  to  LFS.

Gosh  guys.  I'm  just  18   Sad  train  sucks  though  it  gets  too  crowded.  Bus  is  safer  for  the  fish  cause  in  the  train  there's  barely  any  space  for  luggage.  I  need  at  least  two  guys  to  come  with  me.  Cause  last  time  I  alone  tried  catching  and  it  took  me  30  minutes  to  catch  50  good  guppies.  And  I'm  not  shipping  any  guppies  -.-  if  you  want  it,  you  guys  can  come  pick  it  up  from  my  place  or  come  with  me  to  kgf  or  I  can  give  it  to  you  at  the  next  ASK  meet.
