 @DRDHEEP

 What  types  of  guppy  strains  your  LFS  normally  keeps?  because  Pure  strains  guppies  are  expensive,  As  you  rightly  said,  keeping  only  male  guppies  will  reduce  your  chances  of  getting  next  better  generation  guppy  from  Line  breeding  /  in  breeding  techniques.

 Other  reason  could  be  purely  because  Guppy  males  are  colourful  &  attractive  &  females  are  normally  dull.  So  probably  your  LFS  is  not  keeping  female  guppies.  However,  some  of  the  guppy  pure  strains  are  really  good  in  colors.

 I  have  2  Pure  Albino  red  females,  one  red  lace  snakeskin  &  one  yellow  snakeskin  female  which  I  managed  to  get  from  my  very  trusted  LFS  &  they  are  really  good  in  colors  if  you  compare  normal  guppy  females.

 If  you  are  looking  to  breed  guppies  &  that  too  for  a  quality  strain,  I  would  strongly  suggest  to  get  the  stock  from  either  a  trusted  LFS  or  from  reputed  guppy  breeder.

 Some  LFS  store  dont  even  understand  the  basic  reason  why  male  &  female  guppies  from  such  precious  strains  are  kept  seperate.  Keeping  or  Mixing  these  guppies  with  other  'not  so  good'  guppies  will  more  or  less  result  in  poor  offspring...

 Sandy

 Choosing  healthy  fish  from  LFS  is  a  key  to  having  a  healthy  tank.
 If  you  see  dead  fish  in  LFS  tank,  don't  buy  the  fish,  it  is  as  simple  as  that.

 i  recommend  to  keep  guppies  male  female  ratio  as  1:4.  it's  their  natural  requirement.

 So  guppy  varieties  should  not  be  mixed  to  prevent  inbreeding?  Does  that  mean  a  tank  should  contain  only  one  variety?
 Also  want  to  know  if  guppies  will  eat  RCS  shrimplets
