Nag, Thanks for your input. I really get lost with the plethora of acronyms the regulars use.
My humble contribution relating to lighting:
MH - Metal Halide
CFL - Compact fluorescent lamp (has a built in ballast)
PLL - PL type CFLs (PL stands for Philips Lighting). Differ from regular CFL in that these need external ballasts.
WPG - Watts Per Gallon
HO - High Output
