Managed  to  get  some  Driftwood  in  place  ...........  Cant  say  i  am  completely  happy  with  the  driftwood,  But  will  be  able  to  cover  all  the  defects  using  plants.  Did  a  trial  run  to  see  if  it  creates  a  good  impession  ......  I  think  it  does   Smile

Please  ignore  the  cooling  fan  at  the  back,  Its  part  of  my  temporary  MH  Light  Unit  untill  my  MH  Unit  arrives.

Scaping  will  hopefully  be  done  this  weekend  ......  So  more  pictures  to  come   Smile

 Finally  an  update  ....   Smile

Somehow  i  was  not  really  satisfied  with  the  Driftwood  that  i  had  .......  and  getting  the  right  driftwood  is  one  hell  of  a  task.  Was  searching  for  the  right  driftwood  since  Thursday  and  finally  yesterday  managed  to  get  the  perfect  3  pieces  which  blended  well  together  and  thankfully  at  one  place.  So  started  on  the  scape  at  7:00  PM  yesterday  and  ended  at  3:00  AM  Today,  Took  some  step  by  step  pictures  ....  which  i  hope  will  be  helpful.  So  here  goes  ....  Tank  Specifactions  is  updated  in  Page  1,  1st  Post

 New  Driftwood  Layout

This  will  be  a  split  scape.  Hence  doing  a  partition  with  Chart  Paper  Strip  and  then  base  is  covered  with  ADA  Power  Sand  Special

Post  adding  power  sand,  ADA  New  Amazonia  is  used  on  one  side  and  ADA  Nile  Sand  on  the  other.  Levelled  out,  Chart  Paper  Strip  taken  out  and  the  end  result

Now  you  need  to  add  rocks  to  balance  the  scape,  cover  the  border  of  the  2  Substrates  so  that  they  stay  separated  and  also  doubles  up  for  weighing  the  wood  down  as  well.

First  Stage  of  Planting  is  the  Moss.  Key  places  are  identified  and  tied  with  moss.  You  do  not  cover  the  entire  driftwood  unless  the  driftwood  is  not  good.  In  this  case  it  is  necessary  to  showcase  the  elegant  nature  of  the  driftwood,  hence  moss  is  tied  only  at  few  places.  Used  Willow  Moss  for  this.

Planting  done  on  both  sides.  It  is  better  to  plant  dense  right  from  the  beginning.  Have  never  been  into  stems,  But  this  time  decided  to  go  for  it

Planting  Done  and  Water  being  filled

 DAY  1  -  31  Mar'13

This  time  we  are  gonna  rock  in  IALPC....
Nayak  sir  I  will  bug  you  for  my  tank  pic  ROFL

 Seetharam,

I  see  H.  pinnatifada  in  the  front.  Arent  they  big  plants.
I  have  no  in  hand  experiance  with  them  but  they  are  one  of  my  favorite  natives,  look  vise.
So  will  be  watching  them  here......
BTW  awesome  scape.  As  always  I  love  South  american  scape(I  hope  that  is  the  term  for  scapes  with  river  bank  kind  of  set  up  Smile  ).
Great  that  you  have  explaned  the  process  here

 Regards,
 Jaiby

 Looks  nice  Seetharam.......

One  thing  the  scape  of  the  left  hand  side  is  excellent.  But  the  left  hand  side  scape  compares  to  right  hand  little  weak.
May  be  I  am  wrong.  You  are  expert  in  planted  tank.  Hope  you  will  take  the  right  decision.
