Fire!Fire!  Ac  circuit  broke!  My  bedroom  started  burning  @1.30am.  It  started  with  ac,then  bed  followed  by  whatever  the  heat  and  fire  can  burn.
I  got  scared,  frightened, upset!!!!!!  By  gods  grace  I  woke  up  and  alerted  everyone  as  soon  as  the  fire  broke.
Lost  2  smart  phones,2  laptop,  bed,  and  off  course  ac!

My  camera  bag  had  a  very  close  shave,  I'm  happy  I  saved  it  at  the  last  min.

The  funny  part  is  after  the  fire  was  put  off,  my  parents  said  its  because  of  chiller.  Oh  my  god!  The  blame  is  on  me  and  my  fish  tank  now.

Now,  I  realised  how  carefull  we  should  be  with  electricity  and  fire.  I  realised  importance  of  maintenance  and  replacement.

I  myself  saw  how  fast  the  fire  and  smoke  was!  In  2  mins  it  burnt  my  queen  size  bed.
The  smoke  was  unbelievably  saffocating.  God  thanks  for  saving  everyone  in  my  family.

Can  I  make  a  complain  on  the  ac?  Can  I  claim  something?  It's  a  hitachi  window  ac

Since  you  have  mentioned  that  the  AC  circuit  had  some  issues,  you  can  call  them.  But  before  clarify  few  things  like  the  following.
How  old  is  your  AC  unit  ,  are  you  covered  under  warranty.
Have  you  got  it  serviced  by  any  non  -  company  agent  (  then  warranty  is  void)
Does  the  company  cover  issues  related  to  Power  surge  (  if  u  had  1  ).

Also  can  you  get  the  electrical  wiring  checked  for  your  entire  house  to  point  out  the  root  cause  .

Last  but  not  the  least....  Glad  that  no  one  got  hurt   Smile  .

Called  Gokul  earlier.  Seems  to  be  a  bit  jittery,  but  no  problem  to  people.  So  that's  a  plus.

On  a  lighter  note  (no  offence),  its  funny  how  so  many  of  us  are  hooked  to  IAH  (including  me).  the  first  thing  that  he's  done  is  to  post  on  IAH  in  the  middle  of  the  night!  Possibly  because  his  hobby  was  squarely  blamed   Shocked

@Gokul:  call  me  at  any  time  if  you  need  any  help.  I'm  coming  to  take  the  fishes  &  plants  as  soon  as  you  call.

Gokul:  If  you  have  not  serviced  this  product  outside  Hitachi  do  the  following.

Contact  the  nearest  office  of  Hitachi  and  ask  for  compensation.  If  they  are  not  taking  it   seriously  post  it  on  there  wall  on  Face  book,  twitter  etc.  Why  I  said  Social  network  other  than  consumer  forums  is  that.  Recently  I  had  issues  with  Airtel  and  had  send  mail  to  there  nodal  officer, ombudsman  and  even  posted  in  a  consumer  court  forum(http://www.consumercourtforum.in/  --  It  is  not  a  govt.  forum  but  has  most  companies  representatives  present  there).  There  was  not  much  of  impact,  but  when  I  posted  it  at  the  wall  of  "Airtel  presence"  in  Facebook. The  action  was  instant.  I  got  a  call  from  their  corporate  office  and  the  thing  was  resolved.....

Don't  take  this  lightly,You  didn't  pay  a  fortune  for  that  brand  to  burn  your  house  and  put  you  dear  one's  life  at  stake.
It  is  our  attitude,  of  taking  things  lightly  until  some  life  is  lost,  that  is  making  all  these  frauds  in  India.

 Dear  Gokul....

It  scares  the  shit  out  of  me....  as  i  imagine.....
and  As  you  pointed  out  rightly  so...(Now,  I  realized  how  careful  we  should  be  with  electricity  and  fire.  I  realized  importance  of  maintenance  and  replacement.  )  will  be  doing  the  first  thing  as  i  go  home  today....

Jabba  thanxs  for  bringing  it  to  out  notice  the  need  for  complaining  /  posting  on  social  wall  and  for  the  site...

 regards

Thanks  to  all  for  your  support.

It's  so  unfortunate,  as  Athreyan  had  mentioned,at  times  our  hobby  becomes  a  scape  goat.
Chiller  and  ac  running  in  2  different  phases,  for  the  entire  night  chiller  would  run  just  2  times(probably  1.5hrs).  But,  the  blame  is  just  the  chiller  which  caused  the  accident(overload)

Ac  got  serviced  6months  back,  it's  4yrs  old  hitachi  1.5  ton.  I  strongly  doubt  on  the  pcb  board,  because  compressor,  motor  and  other  parts  are  in  good  condition.  It's  just  that  the  pcb  board  broke  and  it  fall  in  to  my  bed.  That  caused  the  fire  to  spread  super  rapidly.

I'm  trying  to  defend  my  situation,  don't  know  if  I  will  ever  be  allowed  to  run  chiller  at  home!

Plenty  of  cleaning  is  required,  got  to  get  back.  Will  post  you  updates  once  I'm  free.

@athreyan  -  thanks  for  the  call  dude.  Will  try  to  call  you  tonight  ir  tomorrow.  Need  to  Repaint  all  the  rooms!!!!

This  is  an  experience  but  this  can't  stop  by  hobby  Wink
