 Hi  Jai,

 Good  going..

Regarding  the  noise  from  the  overflow,  I  could  see  that  you  are  using  both  the  overflow  box  and  the  drain  which  you  have  already  drilled  to  the  tank.  The  drain  drilled  to  the  tank  need  not  be  used  as  the  overflow  box  should  be  able  to  take  the  complete  load.   So  please  try  closing  the  drilled  drain  pipe  and  see  if  the  overflow  box  is  taking  the  full  load  and  reducing  the  noise  level.

 Kessil  is  looking  awesome..  Smile

And  the  reason  why  the  second  drain  pipe  in  the  overflow  box  not  working  is:

You  already  have  two  drains  working  and  those  drain  pipes  are  taking  the  complete  drain  load.  Hence  the  third  pipe  does  not  have  any  water  to  drain  out.  Once  you  close  the  drilled  drain  and  the  first  pipe  inside  the  overflow  box  is  not  able  to  take  the  load,  the  second  pipe  would  automatically  start  draining  water.

Good  effort  Jaival.  Just  my  view  that  the  planted  tanks  look  a  bit  crowded  with  equipment...  If  you  could  just  hide  them  somehow  or  get  those  airline  tubes  painted  dark  brown,  it  would  look  natural.

 1.  Reef  Octopus-  its  always  best  to  raise  the  level  but  that  will  depend  on  the  OTP  pump  you  have  got.  I  saw  a  difference  in  the  performance  when  I  raised  it  using  egg  crate.  The  manual  I  got  along  with  it  was  a  A4  size  paper  which  looked  like  a  Photocopy  from  a  book.  Even  low  end  chinese  companies  make  better  manuals.  On  the  skimmer,  there  is  a  marking  for  maximum  and  minimum  water  level.  But  unfortunately  its  written  as  'Mini'  which  to  me  looks  extremely  amateurish...  The  Grammar  in  the  manual  was  not  right.  One  of  the  dumbest  guys  in  the  world  is  responsible  for  their  manual  printing/editing  section.  Most  people  claim  to  have  good  results  when  in  6-8  inches  of  water.  The  end  product  is  a  beauty  though.

 2.  Wave  maker  -  sunsuns  are  horrible  stuff.  Get  rid  of  them.  But  then  the  choices  are  limited.  Since  you  have  invested  in  a  mammoth  tank,  would  recommend  Mp40s  or  higher.  I  have  seen  one  of  them  working  at  my  friends  place.  They  are  damn  cool  stuff.  I  have  a  Sicce  wavemaker  with  the  top  end  motors(voyager  8.0).  But  they  are  still  pathetic  when  the  question  of  spread  comes.  To  me  Sunsun  Vs  Sicci  is  just  Chinese  Vs  Italian  brand  name  and  might  be  long  lasting  motors  with  a  magnetic  base(Spread  wise,  they  are  more  or  less  similar).  Mp40s  are  damn  expensive  though.

 3.  Black  beard  -  Smile  Sorry  the  planted  experts  will  pump  in  some  advise....

Thank  you  very  much  chichlid  lover...

I  even  mailed  them  regarding  the  poor  instruction  mannual  but  no  replies.
Ll  have  to  fiddle  around  with  the  skimmer  to  get  it  skimming

Wavemaker  my  initial  plan  was  to  buy  MP40  but  working  out  expensive  plus  have  many  things  lined  up  like  LEDS  n  stuff  soo  no  MPs  at  the  moment....  But  might  go  for  jeabo  WP40  they  seem  to  b  pretty  cool  and  are  not  that  expensive....  Ll  manage  with  2-3  at  the  moment..  And  than  ll  think  of  MPs  or  can  settle  with  siccies  also...

Waiting  for  more  experts  to  jump  in  and  answer  me  .....

For  #3:  Use  H2O2  while  weekly  maintenance  lower  the  water  level  and  using  injection  syringe  or  paint  brush  apply  H2O2  on  those  wood  and  then  fill  the  water,  next  day  you  can  see  the  difference   Smile

If  you  are  going  to  have  a  reef  tank  tank  then  my  advise  is  go  for  the  best  in  the  first  shot....I  have  made  huge  dents  in  my  pocket  with  lighting  and  wavemakers.

 Wavemakers:
I  first  went  for  a  couple  of  sunsun  wavemakers,  then  2  sicce  with  controllers,  then  with  RR  WAvemaker  and  then  finally  settled  and  happy  with  the  beast  2  MP40's.

 Lighting:
First  with  8x54W  T5's,  then  with  400w  metal  haldies  and  the  finally  settled  with  4  modules  of  mazarra  P  series.

So  whatever  equipment  you  buy  for  a  reef  tank  always  buy  the  best.
