Lighting - 3.6 watts per gallon
Pressurized CO2 with Ferts
Tank 1 started 2 months back.

I am attaching the pictures below......
Thanks,

Very interesting and nice.
Using the internal power filter for a planted tank is fine ? |

Thanks Navneeth, Sanjay, Selwin, Jaiby and Shyam. Glad that you liked them.
Selwin: Did update Location with an avataar too. Good that you pointed out.
Shyam: I did not have any issues with the internal filters other than that area cannot be used for planting. You know what? In my 2nd tank, 2 out of 5 shrimps have survived from Serpae tetras for 2 weeks now due to the hiding place beneath the filter |

Thanks Sanjoy. I am still learning the basics
After how many days you introduced the fishes in tanks ? What precautions were taken before that, if any. |

Never mind Shyam, even I am a beginner in planted Aquariua. But I had to deal with ADA Amazonia sometime back.
I laid the substrate in both of my tanks and had no filter running and then:
1. 1st week - 30% water change every alternate days.
2. 2nd week - 30% water change every 2 days. i.e Mon, thu, sun
3. 3rd week - 30% water change twice a week. i.e. wed, sun
This all is done since ADA Amazonia leeches ammonia for the first few weeks.
From then I change 30% water every saturday even now.
Introduction of fishes at the start of 4th week. Since your tank has twice the amount of amazonia than I have, adjust accordingly. I suggest you wait for start of 6th week.
Startling fact: these 3 weeks all my 19 fishes (from both tanks) survived happily in 2 separate buckets (tank wise) with the internal filters running. My native shrimps bred in the bucket
And after I introduced them to their respective tanks at the start of the 4th week. No mortality
That's my reality. All the best!
Thanks,
Sanjoy |

Nice tanks...
Which are the plants that you have planted to the right front side of the tank (1st tank). Is that any stem plant? If yes, please move them towards the back of the tank. In time, they grow big and obstruct the light to the carpet plant. |
