deepak,  the  blue  with  white  face  and  the  black  one  came  in  as  a  giant  pairs,  and  stay  in  a  separate  tank  together,  while  the  red  one  stays  in  this  tank.  for  taking  snaps  i  placed  them  together  with  a  glass  barrier.

Okay..  that's  good.  The  blue  plakat  is  a  marble.  Do  you  wish  to  them?  If  yes  ..  the  blue  gene  will  totally  destroy  the  melano  pigments.  Not  a  good  idea  if  you  want  to  preserve  the  melano.  But  go  ahead  if  you  want  giant  offsprings.  You  might  get  a  few  butterflys  out  of  them.
If  you  think  of  preserving  the  melano  then..  find  a  steel  blue  or  black  lace  giant  female  for  the  grumpy  chap.

Actually  i  did  not  find  a  black  female  (giant)  for  the  male  giant  so  had  to  move  on  with  the  blue  one.  Hope  i  will  be  able  to  find  accurate  pair  for  the  guy.

they  stay  in  the  same  tank??  why  please??
from  these  pics  it  is  not  possible  to  make  out  if  the  fancy  (blue  with  white  face)  is  a  female  or  a  male.  share  a  flaring  pic  pls  and  separate  them  asap.

butterflies  out  of  a  melano  and  a  multi  cross?
Do  care  to  explain  how  this  conclusion  is  viable?

Changed  my  previous  post.  Separate  them  for  good.  And  condition  them.  About  Butterfly  pattern  you  will  still  get  red  wash  in  most  of  them.  Better  get  a  black  less  if  possible.

 @  Deepak:
 I  quote  :
"The  butterfly  patterns  is  caused  by  a  mutated  gene  called  variegated  fins  (Vf)  [3].  The  variegated  fin  mutation  is  dominant  but  the  effects  of  this  mutation  are,  as  mention  before,  highly  variable  from  fish  to  fish."

None  of  the  bettas  posted  here  have  the  variegated  gene  to  confirm  the  same  i  guess,  leave  alone  being  sure  of  such  an  outcome.

Hi  Ashish:   Nice  to  see  you  are  replies  WC  back  Smile.  Thank  you  for  an  information  on  identify  a  Dragon  scale.

Smile  I  am  not  criticizing/degrading  any  body.   Smile

Fist  of  all  I  would  like  to  tell  is:  a  fresh  hobbyist  is  more  curious  to  buy  fish  which  looks  good  for  their  eye  (thinking  that  all  fish  are  same),  even  if  thy  see  online  suggestion/comments  they  will  be  messed  up  and  take  their  own  decision  and  end  up  in  buying  a  bad  one.

When  a  child  starts  to  walk  it  makes  lots  of  mistake..  and  keep  learning.
In  fresh  hobbyist  case,  if  we  tell  him/her  not  to  buy  by  giving  many  reasons,  he  wont  listen  because  he  is  more  eager  to  buy  them  and  he  may  take  it  in  other  way.

Even  I  have  ended  in  buying  bad  fish,  having  minimum  knowledge.   now  I  am  gaining  knowledge  day  by  day  from  of  Prabhu,  You,  Satya,  Deepak  and  Samd.

*We  tried  to  stop  that  guy  buying  a  betta  pair  for  big  money.  but  he  did  not  listen.  finally  we  gave  up.  now  he  is  bit  aware  of  what  he  is  buying  and  learning  faster  then  me  Smile.
