Somnath,  welcome  to  the  hobby.  You  have  some  very  nice  pets  and  nice  clicks  too.  I  do  not  think  that  it  is  ok  to  have  angels  with  goldfishes.  Do  try  to  provide  a  nice  home  to  your  pets  and  do  plenty  of  research  on  the  internet  related  to  caring  and  feeding  them.  The  well  being  of  the  fishes  will  give  you  the  joy  of  seeing  them  lead  a  long  and  healthy  life.

Also,  the  plastic  plants  and  coloured  pebbles  will  not  look  good.  You  may  try  some  hardy  plants  like  Anubias  and  amazon.  Bottom  can  be  any  sand  will  look  better.

By  the  way,  your  pics  are  superb.  which  camera  and  settings?

Angels  are  angels,  color  does  not  matter.  over  time  they  will  get  territorial  and  out-compete  the  slow  moving  goldfish  for  food,  and  eventually  kill  them.  Please  read  up  about  fish  compatibility  before  buying  fish.  there's  plenty  of  free  info  available  on  the  net.

Thanks  sachianu  ...  im  sorry  that  i  didn't  do  any  R&D  before  buying.Actually  it  was  an  impulse  buy  on  the  occassion  of  my  son's  birthday....  not  a  very  good  decision  i  see  now.  will  try  to  rectify  the  errors  already  committed.

the  pictures  are  also  very  first  shots  of  an  aquarium  by  me.  I  was  using  Nikon  D700  with  70-200  f4  and  85  f1.4  afd  at  widest  aperture  on  tripod  and  remote  release.  a  sb600  flash  was  remotely  fired  on  top  of  the  tank...

Thanks  Sid.  fortunately  the  fish  seller  is  a  known  kid.  i  will  return  the  angels.  he  has  also  given  silver  shark  and  small  black  sharks  with  red  fin  ,  they  are  not  nudging/pecking  as  of  now.  what  to  do  with  them?  i  will  take  pictures  and  seek  your  valuable  opinion  ....  will  catch  up  with  the  reading  slowly.

Most  Fish  sellers  in  India  have  no  clue  about  fish  compatibility.  If  possible,  this  kid  will  even  sell  you  a  goat  to  keep  with  your  goldfish,  it's  up  to  you  to  do  your  research.  Silver  (bala)  sharks  grow  huge  and  need  huge  tanks,  they  are  fast  swimmers  and  will  outcompete  your  goldies  for  food.  the  small  black  sharks  are  also  aggressive.  Return  them  asap.  Please  read  up  about  which  fish  are  compatible  with  goldfish.

a  necessary  rectification.  the  70  200  was  at  f4  but  the  85  was  in  2.8  (  not  at  1.4  as  specified  at  the  earlier  post)  AND  i  add  that  i  was  shooting  an  aperture  priority  mode  and  sometimes  in  manual  mode.  will  process  and  upload  slowly  ...

Behavioral  compatibility  is  not  even  the  beginning  of  the  argument  against  keeping  these  tank  mates.

First  &  foremost,  goldfish  are  cold  water  fish  &  must  be  kept  at  water  temperatures  below  22C.  Most  other  fishes  in  the  hobby  are  tropical  fishes  which  need  temperatures  above  25C.

goldfish  are  best  kept  on  their  own.  They  should  be  housed  in  large  aquariums  as  they  grow  large  &  grow  quick.  The  first  goldfish  needs  a  minimum  20  gallons  and  every  subsequent  goldie  requires  10  gallons.  So  if  you  want  to  keep  4  goldfish,  then  your  minimum  requirement  is  50  gallons.  Remember,  bigger  the  tank,  the  better.  also,  there  is  no  such  thing  as  a  dwarf  goldfish  or  miniature  goldfish.  All  goldfish  have  the  ability  to  grow  large.

The  average  lifespan  of  a  goldfish  in  a  fish  tank  is  around  15  to  18  years.  But  if  you  managed  to  keep  it  for  longer  than  10  years,  you've  done  a  fair  job.

Goldfish  create  a  lot  of  waste.  thereby  good  filtration  is  priority.  But  remember  that  goldfish  don't  like  too  much  current.  So  it  is  better  to  diffuse  the  force  of  flow.

Good  luck!  by  the  way,  those  are  some  excellent  goldfish  you  have!   Thumb Up
