 Let's  start  the  wiring  process..
And  we  will  start  from  the  easiest  part,  Out  put  from  the  ballast  to  the  Bulb..
I  have  used  the  4  core  cable  (  contains  4  insulated  wires  housed  inside  a  outer  insulation  covering)..  But,  you  can  use  4  individual  wires  for  this..
Measure  the  length  needed  to  connect  the  ballast  and  the  tube  holder..  and  cut  wires  as  per  requirement.

I  have  cut  the  cable  as  per  my  requirement  and  removed  the  outer  insulation..

Next  part  is  to  skin  the  ends  of  individual  wires  and  tinning  it  using  the  soldering  kit..
Here  is  the  link  to  a  tutorial  on  how  to  do  tinning..
 http://electrical.about.com/od/wiringcircuitry/qt/tinning_stranded_wires.htm

The  tinning  of  wires  saves  you  a  lot  of  head  ache  as  the  bulb  holder  and  the  Ballast  have  push  and  insert  kind  of  terminals.  So  if  the  wires  are  not  tinned,  the  strand  of  wires  wont  insert  properly  in  to  the  terminals..  But  It  can  be  done  with  out  tinning  the  wires.  Rolling Eyes
I  just  pushed  one  wire  at  a  time  in  to  the  holder  terminals..  and  checked  whether  they  are  securely  in  place  by  giving  them  a  gentle  pull..

Now  coming  to  the  Ballast  side,  here  the  terminal  are  also  push  insertion  type..  But  there  is  small  button  kind  of  thing  on  top  of  each  terminal  point  which  has  to  be  kept  pressed  while  inserting  the  wires.  And  when  you  release  the  button  after  inserting  the  wires,  the  wires  get  locked..  To  remove  the  wires  from  these  terminals,  just  push  and  hold  the  button  and  pull  the  wires..
I  have  already  inserted  the  wires  in  to  the  ballast,  and  notice  the  way  the  wires  are  connected  between  the  two..

I  have  repeated  the  process  on  the  other  set,  And  just  placed  them  in  the  fixture  to  cross  check  for  any  problems..

I  realized,  that  I  needed  to  remove  some  more  outer  insulation  on  the  holder  side  to  loosen  the  wires..

 @  superbsite..
Thanks  Pio,  I  just  wanted  to  make  it  easy  for  others..

 @  shri-novice..
Thanks  Shri,  Actually  I  had  planned  to  do  a  LED  lighting  project.  But  due  to  the  dollar  rate  going  sky  high,  I  had  to  temporarly  abandon  it..
And,  yes  the  tank  is  just  a  fish  only  tank  as  of  now..

 @  Shelly..
Thanks,  this  is  nothing  compared  to  your  projects..  Wink

Thanks  for  taking  time  to  snap  pictures  for  our  benefit.  I  know,  it  is  quite  distracting  to  take  photographs  in  between,  while  on  DIY.  But,  each  picture  explains  a  lot  more  than  one  could  type  here.

A  bit  of  sanding  on  top  side  of  the  fixture,  a  coat  of  prime  and  color  of  your  choice  using  spray  paint  bottles  would  just  get  you  a  decent  finish  lot  quicker.  Using  masking  tapes  get  you  nice  edge   finish  lines.  Open  space,  some  clothe  as  breath  mask  would  help,  just  sharing  my  past  experience  if  that  helps.

 @Nidhi,

Which  store  in  BVK  Iyengar  did  you  get  the  55  Watt  PLLs  from  ?  I  gave  up  hope  of  finding  those  after  checking  like  8-10  stores  there  Neutral
Also,  if  you  can  PM  me  the  price  of  the  PLLs  and  the  chokes  it'll  be  really  helpful.
I  just  need  a  rough  idea  of  the  cost.

 Nidhi,

I  will  have  a  problem  fitting  2  of  these  in  a  straight  line  as  mentioned  the  length  inside  the  hood  is  about  26  inches  this  work  out  to  more  than29  inches.

Any  suggestions  or  any  other  smaller  ballast  available  as  per  your  research.

 Thuds..
Cant  really  say  about  other  ballast,  only  thing  I  heard  is  they  are  smaller..  And  doubt  whether  they  are  meant  for  55W  PLL..
I  guess  you  will  have  to  do  some  research  yourself..
Why  don't  you  try  and  mount  them  side  by  side  as  I  have  done..
