 Nokia  charger  -  Not  sure  if  the  current  ratings  would  match......Most  of  them  are  made  for  800-1200mAh  which  imposes  a  restriction  of  max  3-5  watts  for  your  pump.....Safer  to  use  a  new  step-down  transformer  with  correct  voltage  and  current  ratings.  Nokia  chargers  are  all  5v  dc.  Not  that  it  wont  work,  bu  you  never  want  a  short-circuit  in  your  house  due  to  an  overloaded  charger....

   The  other  stuffs  look  doable....  Might  be  tricky  getting  the  right  flow  though...
 What  are  you  planning  to  dose  by  the  way?  If  its  freshwater,  isn't  it  easy  to  just  dose  it  in  mornings  rather  than  depend  on  a  ATO  which  can  fail...?  That's  just  my  opinion  by  the  way....Whats  the  guarantee  all  your  macros  and  micros  go  in  proper  amounts?  Do  you  think  you  can  keep  them  mixed  for  longer  duration  in  the  container?  I  think  they  should  all  be  separately  controlled.

 Nokia  charger  after  cross  checking  number  of  times  is  working  fine  and  no  issues  have  been  faced  yet.

 I  am  planning  to  dose  macros  and  micros  for  my  freshwater  tank  and  all  the  solutions  are  in  separate  bottles  of  500ml  quantity  only.  Each  bottle  shall  have  its  own  motor  for  dosing.

 Kindly  what  does  ATO  mean?

 ASSEMBLING:

 1) Drill  two  holes  in  the  bottle  cap  and  fix  the  mini  water  pump  in  it  for  the  inlet  and  fix  it  on  the  bottle.
 2) Attach  the  airline  tubing  to  the  outlet  of  the  pump  and  cut  at  a  gap  of  approx  2incehs  to  attach  the  airline  flow  controller  then  cut  again  at  a  gap  of      approx  2inches  attach  the  NRV.  After  attaching  the  NRV  as  per  requirement  attach  the  garden  dropper  hose  at  the  end  of  the  tubing.
 3) Connect  this  above  unit  to  the  digital  timer  switch  and  adjust  the  controller  as  required.

 Which  mini  pump  are  you  planning  to  use?

 As  dosing  fertilizers  in  the  tank  would  be  in  very  small  amount,  and  controlling  the  pump  with  a  timer  would  be  difficult.  Dosing  fertilizers  in  less  quantity  with  a  normal  timer  would  also  be  difficult  as  the  timer  could  be  set  to  a  minimum  1  minute.  If  your  timer  have  the  functionality  of  setting  the  seconds  too,  then  you  can  calibrate  the  pump  to  dose  better.  So  choose  a  timer  which  helps  you  to  set  "Seconds"  too.

 You  should  also  make  sure  that  the  pump  would  be  able  to  pump  the  liquid  in  steady  state.  The  amount  of  pumped  liquid  varies  according  to  the  voltage  fed  to  the  pump.  In  addition  you  should  make  sure  that  the  running  parts  inside  the  pump  does  not  get  rusted  by  the  constant  flow  of  chemicals  (fertilizers)  through  it.  I  would  rather  choose  a  pump  that  has  all  plastic  parts  inside  the  pump  where  the  liquid  is  in  contact.

 You  cannot  use  a  mobile  charge  to  run  any  motor  as  the  chargers  are  rated  for  less  Ampere  and  voltage.  You  need  atleast  9volt  to  run  the  motor  with  high  ampere  (>850mA).  Preferably  1Amp  supply.

 Santosh,  that's  cool  going  and  simple  too.

 To  deal  with  small  quantity  dosing  issue  and  having  timer  in  seconds----just  dilute  your  fertz  in  a  bigger  container  and  try  running  for  1minute,  you  ll  deal  with  better  results  that  way(9th  class  errors  and  approximations?)  Also  first  measure  the  amount  you  dispensed  in  1minute  and  then  make  your  stock  solution.

 All  the  best.  You  have  inspired  me  to  make  one,  will  do  as  soon  as  i  search  those  pumps.

 Thanks  for  sharing.

 Thanks  saikumar

 RESULT:

 After  assembling  the  whole  unit  I  managed  to  get  my  desired  quantity  of  10ml  in  one  minute  and  accordingly  I  adjusted  the  timer  for  other  dosages.

 Cool..

 Now  keep  the  pump  at  the  floor  surface  level  and  the  outlet  of  the  pipe  to  the  tank  level  and  check  if  it  dose  the  same  amount  of  liquid.  The  gravitational  pull  might  have  some  effect  on  the  pumps  pumping  rate.  So  try  this  and  check  if  you  see  any  difference  in  the  pumping.

 @Shelly

 I  followed  your  suggestion  and  kept  the  pump  at  surface  level  and  the  outlet  pipe  at  the  tank  level  .  I  got  my  desired  quantity  in  1minute  and  16  seconds.
 16  seconds  more  as  the  pump  took  that  initial  start  up  when  the  pump  was  started  because  of  the  gravitational  force..

 @Pio

 Suree  Very Happy   I  will  make  one  for  you  but  only  after  I  refine  and  polish  the  whole  set  up..  Smile

 Regards
 Sunny
