Nautilus  in  bandra  west  is  decent  for  plants  and  exotic  fish/shrimp  but  plants  need  to  ordered  in  advance  i  believe.  Other  than  that,  there's  the  wholesale  markets  at  kurla  and  crawford  (south  bombay)  but  only  for  fish.  Just  don't  keep  your  expectations  too  high  in  Bombay.

Senthil  compared  to  Chennai  i  think  Bombay  is  a  few  steps  back  in  term  of  fish  and  plants.  As  Sid  said  dont  have  your  hopes  up.  Kurla  (west)  nehru  nagar  has  a  wholesale  market  but  you'd  be  lucky  to  get  something  nice.  Nautilus  also  has  decent  stock  but  call  up  and  find  out  before  wasting  you  time.

It's  very  easy  to  pull  out  address's  of  random  fish  stores  from  the  internet  but  i  doubt  this  chap  has  personally  been  to  any  of  the  above  stores.  BOMBAY  does  get  decent  livestock  from  time  to  time,  it  just  has  to  be  your  lucky  day.  In  BOMBAY,  for  shrimp  and  plants  Nautilus  is  your  best  bet.  and  fish  it's  KURLA.

have  a  good  stay  in  BOMBAY.

Yes  I  have  been  to  all  these  shops.  And  that's  the  reason  I  shared  those  contact  details.  If  that  wasn't  the  case  I  could  have  redirected  him  to  entire  Just  Dial  directory.  I  can  elaborate  on  what  I  found  interesting  in  each  &  every  shop  but  its  up  to  Senthil  if  he  wants  to  know  more.

If  you  still  think  Nautilus  is  better  for  fishes  you  need  to  wake  up  &  visit  Aqua  Plantet  not  the  shop  in  Kurla  but  their  Stock  Room  near  Police  station  &  then  revert  me  back.  I  was  amazed  how  a  Kurla  Guy  can  maintain  state-of-the-art  filteration  system.

Apart  from  that  MAM  also  the  reason  where  knowledge  sharing  on  LFS  gets  shared  that  made  my  interest  to  personally  drop  a  visit.  BTW  you  haven't  been  to  MAM  do  attend   Thumb Up

Thank  you  for  waking  me  up  Novice  ji.  I  had  no  idea  about  this  state  of  the  art  stockroom  in  Kurla.  The  next  time  i  need  to  buy  a  pair  of  shivrams  or  shrimps  i  shall  definitely  head  there.

This  just  shows  how  much  i  (and  a  lot  of  other  BOMBAY  hobbyists)  are  missing  out  on  by  not  attending  MaM's  where  a  great  amount  of  knowledge  and  information  is  shared  by  experienced  stalwarts.  Had  i  attended  MaM  i  would  have  learnt  how  to  feed  upma  to  my  fish  and  thus  saved  a  fortune  on  fish  food.  I  would  have  also  learnt  how  to  handle  carcinogenic  liquids  (as  a  carbon  source)  for  my  low  tech  planted  consisting  of  difficult-to-grow  plants  like  cabomba,  water  sprite  etc.

PS:  i  regret  not  coming  for  the  CIFE  visit  and  hence  missing  out  on  buying  fish  sandwich  spread.   Sad

Sid,  we  want  to  meet  you  in  MAM.

There  is  a  shop  at  Kurla  (W)  Fish-o-Fish,  Mr  Kishor.  That  shop  is  very  well  maintained.

Wow  srini...you  have  been  scouting  a  lot....  good  work.

Fish  o  fish  is  the  one  of  the  most  faltu  shops  in  all  of  BOMBAY  especially  for  livestock.
