 Hello  Friends!

This  is  my  3  months  old  Cichlid  tank.

 Specifications:
It  is  a  3  feet  tank.  For  lighting  I  used  Havels  14w  2  ft  ┬áMaglev  deluxe  tube  light.  Fluval  C4  HOb  filter,  Fluval  Tronic  100w  heater  and  an  Atman  Auto  feeder.  Did  not  spend  much  on  the  aqua  scaping.

For  the  background  used  black  tinted  paper
For  the  substrate  used  crushed  rocks  from  the  construction  site(  had  to  rinse  a  lot  because  of  the  dust  and  cement  particles  it  had)
The  brownish  colored  rocks  for  hiding  places

 Photo  Links
 http://s274.photobucket.com/user/agnelor/library/

Right  now  I  have  only  2  pairs  of  red  zebra  and  an  electric  yellow.

Need  advice  on  the  tank  mates  to  buy.  I  had  a  pair  of  Golden  and  Jewel  cichlids  which  died  long  back  because  their  size  were  smaller  than  the  red  zebras.  Somehow  1  yellow  survived.

 Regards
 Agnelo

 Hello  Friends!

On  Saturday  I  added  few  more  big  rocks.  While  I  was  watching  the  tank  after  sometime  I  saw  small  fries  in  between  the  rocks.  I  don't  know  exactly  how  many  fries  are  there.  But  sure  there  is  one.  I  tried  to  capture  a  pic,  but  was  too  difficult  because  it  shows  up  very  rarely.

 Hello  Friends!

It  took  me  some  time  to  understand  what  FTS  is   Smile

Well  my  tank  is  not  completely  set.  The  hood  is  still  pending.  So  once  everything  gets  ready  and  is  placed  on  top  of  the  shoe  rack  I  will  post  the  complete  pic.  Right  now  it  is  placed  on  the  floor.

 Regards
 Agnelo

On  floor  is  fine  but  you  need  a  hood  atleast  to  protect  your  fishes..
By  the  way,  what  are  you  feeding  them?

 Hello  Amazonian2010!

The  carpenter  is  too  busy  to  make  a  hood  for  me  now.  Smile   I  feed  the  fish  with  tetra  bits  and  occasionally  blood  worms.

 Regards
 Agnelo

I  did  a  research  and  found  that  these  fishes  are  predominantly  vegeterians  and  like  to  eat  veggies  more.
Try  tossing  blanched  carrots,  pumpkin,  cucumber,  spinach  and  lettuce.  I  gave  them  and  they   just  love  it.

It  will  make  you  water  little  messy  so  not  to  boil  too  much  or  you  can  feed  them  before  you  change  the  water.
Dont  make  them  eat  bloodworms  and  other  non-veg  stuff  too  much.

I  am  ordering  Hikari  Cichilds  sinking  excel..try  that  too..

 All  the  best..

After  a  long  vacation(2  weeks)  I  am  back  to  Pune.  Happy  that  all  the  fish  are  safe.  Smile.  The  Atman  Auto  feeder  did  its  job  nicely!   The  fry  too  is  doing  good.  Amazonian2010,  The  fish  seems  to  love  bloodworms  than  tetrabits.  Will  stop  bloodworms  once  it  gets  over.
