My  3ft  molded  fish  tanks  cracked   Sad  in  the  front  near  the  curve  from  top  to  bottom.  I  have  no  clue  why  it  cracked   Crying or Very sad  ,  when  we  return  home,  found  tank  was  leaking.  Managed  to  save  all  fish  and  snails.

Can  this  cracked  fixed  with  some  glue  ?

 Hi  Nanda,
Is  the  tank  made  of  glass  or  acrylic..  Both  can  be  sealed,  but  the  rework  will  be  visible.
If  its  made  of  glass  you  can  use  silicon  glue,  If  its  made  of  Acrylic  then  you  need  get  the  acrylic  cement  from  acrylic  shops..
Or,  you  will  have  to  replace  the  complete  cracked  part..

The  link  says  that  its  made  of  glass..  I  think,  looking  at  the  back  corner  joints  will  tell  you  what  kind  of  material  is  used  to  join  the  two  pieces.

 HI  Nidhi,
Thanks  for  the  quick  reply.  Sorry  for  delayed  respond.  Its  Glass.  I  can  see  very  small  glass  pieces  from  the  crack.   I'll  try  to  take  help  of  local  Aqua  Shop  to  fill   silicon  glue.  But  i  have  my  doubt,  since  the  crack  is  from  Top  of  the  glass  till  bottom  of  the  glass.  Single  Glass  covering  three  side  is  become  two  pieces  because  of  the  crack.  If  i  use  Silicon  glue,  will  it  hold  the  water  pressure  of  180  Liters  ?

If  the  crack  has  reached  the  bottom  then  there  is  no  option  but  to  replace  the  glass..  Nadna.
your  concern  is  absolutely  valid,  the  water  pressure  will  definitely  open  up  the  joint  part.
Since  the  front  glass  is  curved  at  the  corner,  it  will  be  difficult  to  replace  the  glass  also..  you  will  get  a  new  tank  for  the  same  price  of  repairing  it..  as  it  will  cost  a  bomb  to  bend  the  glass  as  per  your  requirement..
I  have  seen  pet  bonding  doing  repair  jobs  for  this  kind  of  tanks,  but  don't  know  how  much  they  will  charge..
 just  call  them  and  ask..
 08023597645,08032959842,9448187123,9880344582..
 Or  visit  them  at..

Personally  I  don't  think  its  worth  the  effort  to  replace  the  glass.  If  it  was  a  normal  glass  tank  where  four  pieces  of  glass  are  used,  then  you  could  just  remove  the  broken  piece  &  replace  it  for  a  fraction  of  the  cost.  Since  this  is  a  moulded  tank,  you'd  much  rather  get  another  tank.
