 Hi  All,

Started  this  nano  1  sq  foo  cube  tank  last  week.

There  were  some  plants  that  I  had  tried  growing  in  my  3  foot  tank  and  failed  2  -  3  times.  Hence  I  decided  that  I  would  try  the  same  plants  in  my  nano  cube  tank  this  time.  Decided  to  use  RO  water  for  the  entire  tank,  as  I  failed  in  growing  the  plants  earlier  in  my  ground  water  where  the  water  hardness  was  800+  ppm.  Currently  the  water  hardness  of  the  tank  is  280ppm.

 Tank  Specs:

 Tank  Dimension:  12"L  x  12"W  x  12"H
 Substrate:  ADA  Amazonia
 Hardscape:  Rocks
 Lighting:  Aqua@Home  Plant  LED  1200
 CO2:  2  bps  pressurized
 Dosing:  EI  method.

         Macro  solution:  KNO3+KH2PO4
Micro  solution:  CSM+B  +  Iron  separately
 Flora:

 >  Ammannia  Sp.  "Bonsai"
 >  Rotala  Macrandra  --  "MINI"  BUTTERFLY  "Hi  Red"
 >  Tonina  Fluviatilis
 >  Alternanthera  Reineckii  mini
 >  HC  Cuba

 Initially  started  with  this  scape:

Did  the  partition  using  sun  board  and  glued  the  pieces  to  the  base  of  the  tank  using  the  glue  (using  hot  melting  glue  gun)

Planned  to  use  ADA  Nile  sand  in  the  middle

But  after  seeing  the  final  scape,  felt  that  I  have  very  little  space  to  plant  the  plants.  And  decided  to  change  the  scape.

So  removed  the  partition  at  the  middle  and  change  the  scape  to  this:

Would  be  putting  the  ADA  Nile  sand  in  this  portion.

 More  to  come...

 Substrate  laid.

 Stones  in  place.

Preparing  the  plants  for  the  planting.

Rotala,  Ammania  Sp  Bonsai  and  Tonina  cut  equally  to  length.

On  to  the  left  is  the  tissue  cultured  Alternanthera  Reineckii  mini.  First  time  trying  my  hands  on  a  tissue  cultured  plant.  It  was  very  neatly  packed  in  a  small  cup  and  sealed  air-tight  using  a  thin  plastic  sheet.  I  still  remember  a  post  in  FB  about  the  sale  of  this  plant  be  a  kerala  lfs.  The  price  was  1850rs  for  just  5  stems  stating  that  its  a  very  rare  plant!!!!.  And  I  got  the  entire  bunch  that  you  see  in  the  left  side  of  the  photo  for  just  180rs   Smile   Smile

The  cup  in  which  the  plant  was  cultured.  Neatly  labeled.

Placers  to  mark  the  boundary  for  each  plants.

 Finally  the  planting  starts.

Pearling  started  within  half-an-hour  of  planting.

 All  plants  planted.

I  know  that  the  filter  is  an  eye  sore.  Would  be  shortly  removing  it  and  a  nano  canister  filter  would  be  added  to  the  tank.

 Day  2:

Filled  the  CO2  on  Saturday.  On  Sunday  the  entire  2kg  cylinder  got  emptied..  Gas  leaked...   Sad   Sad
I  didnt  check  for  any  leakage...   Thumb Down   Thumb Down   Sad   Sad

Day  5  and  no  CO2.  Hence  skipped  the  dosing..

Day  6:  After  adding  CO2  to  the  tank.
