Just  got  the  latest  edition  of  Metromail  and  saw  some  Osram  FTL  T8  tubes  on  it.They  are  your  standard  4'  tubes,  36W  and  8000K.
Available  in  packs  of  2  and  10.
The  price  for  the  10  pack  is  Rs  749/-.  I  am  not  sure  what  the  2  pack  costs.  This  is  just  FYI.Anyone  who  wants  them  can  have  a  look  in  Metro  and  kindly  update  if  there  actually  are  stocks  and  if  possible  the  price  of  the  2  pack.

 Hi  viven

Well  the  Philips  truelite  is  at  6500k  and  that  is  also  a  t8  light.  In  osram  you  get    the  lamps  in  4000k  6000k  and  now  recently  8000k.

The  8000k  is  a  good  light  since  it  will  penetrate  deeper  into  the  tank.  I  would  suggest  you  use  8000k  and  4000k  tubes  for  a  good  all  round  spectrum  light.

       Regards
               Harshal.

It  is  just  that  in  Bangalore  we  are  better  networked  among  Hobbyists,  commercial,  LFS  etc.  and  share  information.

I  just  now  got  enquiries  from  LFS  here  who  are  setting  up  tanks  in  commercial  places  regarding  8000K  bulbs  from  Osram.  All  have  been  directed  to  Metro  and  Vinayaka  Enterprises.  Thumb Up

No  harshal,  Metro  has  a  minimum  purchase  quantity  or  lots.  That's  what  makes  10  tubes.

Okay  Harshal, thanks  for  the  info.I'l  be  doing  that  if  i  dont  find  anyone  else  wanting  the  tubes.I  think  the  pack  of  2  may  be  available  at  a  slightly  higher  price. In  Metro  it  usually  is,the  more  you  buy  cheaper  the  stuff  works  out
