Hi Guys,
Wanted to share a tank of mine which is based on Tunga river in Karnataka
The tank:
Inhabitants:
6 Arulius Barbs:
6 Rohtee Ogilbyii (which i will give away):
6 Melon Barbs:
1 Garra Bicornuta/Tunga Garra:
2 Mystus Canarensis Catfish:
3 Triangularis loach:
Tank is 3'L x 2' B x 18" H, Water Change twice a week- 30%, Feed them with Bottom feeder pellets from Aquatic remedies and Hikari ALgae Wafers. THey all fight and chase around while eating like they do in the wild (all are wild caught after all). All the pebbles, rocks and twigs are collected from nearby rivers
Will update with more bigger stones and once I give away the rohtee ogilbyi, will add few more botia striata. Need to add a black BG as well.
Hope you all like it.
Cheers,
Karthik |

Thanks Nidhi sir. My good friends shared it with me when they went for a trip there Supposedly, the ogilbyii is going to grow to about 10", as per what I heard. So I don't want it to suffer in this 3' tank. I will probably house it in my aunt's pond, which is much bigger and better for it.
Cheers,
Karthik |

Ya Karthik.. those will grow large for sure. Pond is definitely the right place for them.
But still they look really cute.. |

Nice to see a native biotope after a long time. The Mystus and the Mesonemacheilus will do better with food like Tetra Bits or Hikari Carnivore Pellets. |

Thanks Balaji. I always felt our Native fish are underrated. I keep many of them: Channa Green fantasy (from Meghalaya), Asian Stone cats, Channa Andrao, Yoyo Loaches and the ones mentioned above in my post. Yes, i feed them shrimps and tetra bits now and then.
Cheers,
Karthik |

Marvelous looking tank indeed! The first photograph of the entire tank with the low lighting is perfect. |

Beautiful setup! Very raw, natural and lively.
Did you consider putting up a vinyl background on this? |

Thanks Hamza bhai.. No not yet an expert with backgrounds. I will learn about them in the coming days. But, yes, a rock-like background would look really nice.
