I recently setup a 30g planted tank and it’s in the second week of cycling.
Need to decide which fish to keep.
I already have a pair of golden rams which I plan to keep in this tank.
Which other fish could i keep along with my ram pair?
One thought I had was neon tetras, rummy nose tetra and may be some algae eater.
Will the SAE grow too large for a 30g?

Ideally for a planted tank your first option would be schooling tetras, rasboras and/ or Rainbow varieties of fish. Common and popular ones are like what you listed. Additionally, you can introduce some shrimps like Cherry red, etc. But with rams now, I am not sure having shrimps would be a good idea. If you are about to select the fishes based on the pair of Ram you have, then I would suggest fellow hobbyists who have kept a Ram before to comment. If the requirement is based on a planted tank, I would suggest the list given in the first line.

For a planted tank with schooling tetras otocinclus will be a very good option, if you can get them. Get at least 6 as they are schooling and social fish. But you must make sure that there is sufficient algae in your tank. Or else you have to feed them blanched veggies like zucchini, spinach etc or provide good quality algae wafers. I prefer Hikari.
