 Hi  Guys,

I  have  tried  an  emersed  setup,  with  the  clay  found  on  the  banks  of  lakes.  I  purchased  a  grass  like  succulent  plant  which  needs  high  moisture,  for  this.  Here's  how  it  looks.  This  is  about  two  weeks  old.

This  tub  has  One  Anubia,  one  fern,  one  crypt  parva,  one  crypt  wendtii,  few  cuttings  of  mc,  a  clump  of  fissidens  moss,  few  cuttings  of  pelia  moss  and  some  terrestrial  moss  growing  in  my  garden.

Can  anyone  ID  this  terrestrial  moss:

 Cheers,

 Karthik

 Nice...   Thumb Up

The  grass  plant  looks  very  nice...

Do  you  cover  the  bucket  with  the  plastic  sheet?  Or  it  is  left  open  everytime?

Thanks  Shelly.  It  seems  that  the  grass  like  plant  is  a  mondo  grass.  One  of  the  members  of  other  forum  ID-ed  it  for  me.  I  keep  the  tub  covered  with  a  transparent  plastic  sheet  to  maintain  moisture  inside.

 Cheers,

 Karthik

Added  Tenellus  and  Oak  ferns  to  the  tub.  Will  shift  the  oak  ferns  to  a  new  emersed  setup  shortly.  I  added  the  Java  Moss  on  a  coconut  shell  and  dropped  it  here.  That  is  growing  well  too.

Started  one  more  container  with  HC.  This  container  has  got  a  flap  (restaurant  parcel  container),  so  no  need  of  having  a  plastic  cover  on  top.

Here's  the  pic  of  the  container  :D

hi  karthik  ..  i  love  your  emersed  setup  ..  i  am  going  to  order  some  plants  and  i  am  going  to  receive  lot  more  than  i  need  for  my  tank  ..  i  am  going  to  order  rotala  ,  dwarf  sag  ,,  lud.  repens  etc  ..  i  was  wondering  how  u  have  set  this  up  ..  could  u  guide  me?  are  your  containers  placed  under  sunlight  or  u  have  specific  lights  for  them?  i  would  wanna  make  an  emersed  setup  if  i  have  some  plants  left  over  ..  if  its  not  that  expensive  and  time  consuming  Razz

Hi,  i  have  all  of  these  setups  under  the  shade  of  a  tree  in  our  garden.  They  are  all  covered  with  transparent  plastic  sheets  to  preserve  humidity  inside  the  containers.

 Cheers,
