All  LFS  will  use  vinyl  plastic  sheet.  It  is  self  adhesive.  Clean  the  glass  surface  with  soap  solution,  wipe  it  clean.  Before  placing  the  vinyl  sheet  on  the  glass  spread  some  soap  solution  on  the  glass  and  paste  the  sheet.  Use  a  plastic  card  (Credit  card)  to  remove  air  bubbles.  Move  from  centre  of  the  glass  to  the  outside, removing  all  the  air  bubbles.
 Cheers!!

 @  ng30o77,

You  can  use  black  chart  paper.  That  is  the  most  cost  effective  method.

Or  else,  you  can  use  the  black  sticker  that  you  could  get  from  the  car  sticker  shops.
Or  you  can  use  black  spray  paint  cans  that  you  get  from  the  car  accessories  shops.  Or  ebay.

If  you  have  not  yet  brought  the  spray  can,  hold-on.

I  have  one  bottle  with  me  now  at  home  which  I  had  brought  for  another  DIY.  I  will  try  spraying  it  to  the  glass  and  check  if  it  really  works.  Will  update  you  today  evening.  And  then  you  can  buy  one..   Thumb Up

I  used  a  straightened  out  black  trash  bag  for  my  2.5  G.  Its  not  perfect,  but  it  gives  a  nice  dark  background,  works  for  me   Thumb Up  My  tank's  placed  on  a  window  sill  getting  indirect  sunlight,  so  I  was  more  concerned  about  blocking  out  the  light  (for  algae  issues)  than  aesthetic   Chuckle

 Hi,

Yes.  I  did  it  yesterday  and  it  was  not  that  good  finish  that  I  got.  May  be  I  need  to  do  a  trial  and  error  method.  When  I  initially  sprayed,  I  sprayed  more  and  the  paint  starting  flowing  down  the  glass.  If  you  are  spraying  to  the  glass  kept  on  a  table,  then  it  should  not  be  an  issue.  Since  I  was  holding  the  glass  in  hand  and  was  spraying  to  the  glass.  Due  to  this  the  excess  paint  started  to  flow  down.

 Hi,
You  will  find  the  vinyl  sheet  in  the  shop  where  they  sell  radium  sheets  used  for  vehicle  no  plates.  These  sheets  are  dirt  cheap  if  bought  from  these  shops.  LFS  will  sell  them  at  3  times  the  price.

 Regards,
 Swapnil
