Hey, guys. I have a planted aquarium with an LED bulb that seems to be doing OK so far. I manually turn on/off the light every day. Now I am thinking of getting a timer to do the job for me, maybe in two sessions of 7am–12pm and 6pm–11pm.

Too late, but just an update.
I want to thank you guys for the encouragement. This device has been working from more than a year perfectly. When I had it delivered, I did have to look around for someone who knew how to solder the wires properly along with the metal plugs that go into the timer.
So, once the setup was done, things are working perfectly. Thanks again.
Nice to hear, there are a lot of plug and play timers available now on amazon/flip kart with 6 months guarantees in the same price range. You can plug these into the socked and program them. No wiring required... I have been using these for over a year with out problems.
Have been using a lot of mechanical timers since the last 6 months they work wonderfully. As long as you have backup power, you need not worry about resetting them.
