 Hi,

The  leaves  of  Java  fern  are  turning  brown.  I  have  4*36  W  PLL  and  2  bps  CO2  for  6  hours.  Do  I  need  to  add  any  fertilizers??

 Thanks  &  Regards,
 Swapnil

Mostly  due  to  heat.  Whats  your  tank  temperature?  Or  can  be  due  to  high  light  or  drying  in  air

And  you  need  to  start  dosing  fertilizers.Plants  need  light,  CO2  and  fertilisers  to  grow.  If  you  are  dosing  CO2,  especially  in  high  light,  their  need  for  nutrients  increases  by  a  lot.  Only  dosing  CO2  will  make  the  plants  take  up  what  little  nutrients  are  available  and  they  will  start  showing  nutrient  deficiencies

 Hi,
The  tank  temp  is  28  as  of  now.  It's  high  light  tank.  Tank  dimensions  36*12*15  and  4*36w  pll  of  8000  K.  Have  just  planted  montecarlo  and  s  repens  which  is  now  settling  well.
 Thanks,
 Swapnil

Curious  to  know  about  your  co2  setup.  Please  elaborate  details  of  same.  If  possible  please  attach  pictures  of  tank  along  with  co2  setup.

I  have  pressurised  co2  with  glass  ceramic  ring  diffuser.  CO2  is  2  bps.
Will  try  to  upload  the  pics  later.

 Thanks,
 Swapnil

If  you  have  added  the  ferns  recently,  then  you  have  nothing  to  worry  about.  They  will  take  time  to  acclimatise.  The  old  leaves  will  turn  brownish.  The  new  growth  will  be  healthy.  Java  ferns  are  some  of  the  hardiest  plants.  You  have  to  try  hard  to  kill  them   Smile

Added  d  ferns  last  month.  Hopefully  they  are  not  dying  slowly.
Thank  you  everyone  for  the  guidance.
