Recently  a  week  before  a  have  installed  planted  tank.
For  fertilization  please  suggest  either  to  go  with  DIY  ferts  or  Readymade  one?
DIY  kit  contains  :  potassium  sulphate  (K2SO4   50g)
 Potassium  nitrate  (KNO3     50g)
 Magnesium  sulphate  (MgSO4  +  7H2O      60g)
 Plantex  CSM+B  (15g)
 Potassium  phosphate  (KH2PO4      05g)
 Fe  chelated  DTPA  (10g)

In  case  I  am  interested  in  readymade  then  which  brand  should  i  prefer?  JBL  or  Aqua  remedies  ??

 Dear  Kapil,
I  use  a  mixture  of  DIY  and  readymade.
I  use  Flourish  for  micro-nutrients,  and  API  leafzone  for  Fe.
 Thanks,
 Arin

 Dear  Kapil,
I  make  the  macronutrient  mixture  myself  by  buying  the  components.
I  would  imagine  that  the  DIY  route  for  both  macro  and  micronutrients  is  going  to  be  relatively  cheap.
 Thanks,
 Arin

Yes  khandar  cost  effectiveness  is  major  parameter  about  DIY  ferts.  But  the  pet  shop  owner  suggested  to  use  some  readymade/  branded,  according  to  him  DIY  ferts  are  not  effective  in  long  run.  Should  i  go  for  DIY  or  readymade  ??
   Experts  please  comment.

 Dear  Kapil,
I  am  by  no  means  an  expert,  but  there  is  no  such  thing  as  "losing  effectiveness".
All  you  need  to  make  sure  is  that  you  are  adding  enough  water  (preferably  distilled)  to  dissolve  all  compounds,  and  not  make  too  concentrated  a  solution.
Your  micro  solution  should  be  like  tea  water,  and  your  macro  solution  should  be  clear  without  any  precipitate.
I  add  a  bit  of  gluteraldehyde  solution  to  all  my  fertilizer  bottles  to  prevent  mold.
As  I  said,  I  use  branded  micros  since  I  have  not  ordered  CSM+B  yet,  while  I  can  get  all  the  chemicals  for  the  macro  solution  from  my  suppliers.

 Thanks,
 Arin

 Hi  Kapil

I  sell  diy  ferts  in  powder  form.
 It  contains
 Kno3  -  50gms
 K2s04  -  50  gms
 Kh2po4-  5  gms.
 Mg  -  60  gms
 Fe  dtpa  (11%)  10  gms
 CSM+B  -  15  gms
The  cost  for  all  this  is  Rs.  320/-

Further  u  can  also  take  csm  +b  and  Fe  seperately  for  dosing  micro.
And  taking  branded  ferts  is  more  expensive  in  the  long  run  and  u  get  same  effect  with  diy  and  they  r  cheap.
 Thanks
 Nilesh

At  the  MAM  initially  I  gave  4-5  hobbyists  micros  and  macros  free.  I  dont  understand  what  you  mean  by  profession  ?  This  is  hobby  not  a  profession.  To  genuine  hobbyists  its  given  at  cost  price.  Now  Nilesh  has  taken  up  the   responsibility  of  making  the  ferts  available  at  the  least  price.  He  has  given  you  the  details  here.  Many  hobbyists  sell  CSM+B  at  the  highest  cost.  I  sold  it  for  Rs  250  per  100  gms  then  and   I  finished  my  stock.  Whats  left  is  kept  for  the  genuine  MAM  members  and  will  continue  to  ensure  that  via  friends  coming  down  from  the  USA.

 Dear  Kapil,
It'll  take  too  much  typing  to  catalogue  the  information.
I  will  see  if  I  can  take  some  pictures  and  write  it  up  tomorrow.

You  can  go  ahead  and  order  the  ferts  from  Nilesh.
I  will  get  some  CSM+B  and  some  Fe  from  him  later.

 Thanks,
 Arin

Sorry  but  i  didn't  know  that  you  are  not  professional.  Kindly  try  to  cooperate  the  hobbyists  who  are  not  part  of  MAM.  I  have  already  discussed  with  Nilesh  abouts  ferts.
Pio  help  me  by  visiting  this  link.  My  plants  are  not  showing  good  symptoms.
