 Hi,
Please  check  if  you  recently  increase  the  pressure  of  the  co2  regulator.  solenoid  valves  are  designed  to  withstand  very  less  pressure  it  would  work  perfectly  fine  at  that  pressure,  very  slight  various  in  pressure  above  it  will  100%  cause  leak.  if  that  is  the  case  reduce  the  pressure  from  the  cylinder,  you  can  very  well  control  the  bubble  count  from  the  needle  valve.  check  the  manual  or  the  label  for  the  withstanding  pressure  of  the  solenoid  valve.  if  still  it  leaks  check  the  plumbing  if  all  is  well  and  still  leaks  remove  the  solinoid  valve  from  the  requlator  and  open  the  solenoid  vale  it  is  a  very  simple  mechanism.  blow  it  to  clean  any  dust  in  opening  and  closing  and  the  close  it  tight.  if  still  you  have  leak,  if  it  can  be  services  do  it  or  if  it  is  not  an  option  replace  the  solenoid  the  spring  tension  might  have  gone  or  any  other  reason.

 Regards,
 A.Arun

Hi  Arun,  Thank  you,  Yes  you  are  right,  I  recently  increased  the  pressure  of  the  co2  regulator  ,  will  reduce  the  pressure  from  the  cylinder  and  check.will  updated  on  the  outcome  soon

Hi  Shyam,  Thank  you  ,  replacing  the  solenoid  unit  would  be  the  last  resort

Hi  Preetam,  The  Picture  is  attached

Hi  Arun,  Followed  the  steps  as  suggested  and  tried  with  the  basic  pressure  and  noticed  co2  release  even  after  the  solenoid  was  turned  off, checked  after  an  hour  of  turning  of  the  Solenoid,  i'm  going  for  a  replacement,  it  has  served  well  since  2011.

Deepak  Ganesh,  I  am  not  sure  on  the  Solenoid  Value  whether  its  working  or  not.

But  I  have  a  suggestion  as  see  a  small  flaw  in  your  setup.

As  far  as  I  know  the  Needle  value  should  be  in  between  your  Solenoid  Value  and  Co2  Regulator  output.  So  that  the  Co2  pressure  can  be  controlled  before  its  been  sent  to  Solenoid  Value.

Co2  Regulator  Output  (to  control  the  Major  pressure)  -->  Needle  Value  (to  control  the  Minor  pressure)  -->  Solenoid  Value  -->  Airline  (rest  of  your  setup  Bubble  Counter/NRV/Diffuser)

 Thanks,
 Mohan

This  is  my  setup.  Regulator  ->  solenoid  ->  6  in  1  manifold  ->  tanks

CO2  is  supplied  to  4  (  now  5)  tanks  so  you  can  imagine  the  pressure.  The  solenoid  used  is  a  regular  el  cheapo  brass  one  and  its  been  working  without  any  issues  for  years.

Not  that  you  cant  fix  the  one  you  have  now,  the  problem  could  be  with  the  plunger  or  spring  or  both  or  it  could  even  be  some  dust  particle  on  the  plunger.  If  you  have  the  time  and  tools  you  could  fix  it  or  else  get  a  new  brass  one.

Available  with  Aquasstar  (  Kolathur)  for  less  than  2K.  In  online  stores  they  are  a  bit  expensive.

Go  to  Southern  Enterprises  in  Sp  road.  There  or  nearby  there  are  20-30  shops  dealing  with  pneumatic  supplies.  you  will  get  it  real  cheap.  Take  a  picture  on  you  mobile  that  way  its  easy  to  tell  them  what  you  need.  You  will  find  these  shops  after  all  the  computer  hardware  shops  on  SP  road.  ASK  around,  and  you  will  find  it  for  a  very  less  price,  in  the  mid  hundreds

Use  this  type  of  Solenoid.  if  the  Coil  burns  your  local  electrical  shop  can  re  wind  it  for  you.  If  i  remembe  right  these  are  rated  for  use  upto  10kg  pressure.  well  within  what  we  realistically  use  for  aquariums,  which  is  usually  less  than  2kg/cm2

Yes  its  the  best  VFM  solenoid.  Spare  coil  is  available  and  not  too  expensive.  If  it  can  be  re-winded,  better!!  the  local  guys  here  said  it  cant  be  re-winded  so  ended  up  buying  spare  coil.
