Hi!
My name is Adrian and I am from Spain. I am interested to start a biotope aquarium for Badis badis. I read a lot of research papers about Badis badis and sympatric species, but I still have a lot of questions which I hope you can resolve me.
For tankmates I have chose Chanda ranga, a widespread species. I read some papers which say that there are sympatric species.
I have also read about the habitat of Badis badis. It is said Badis inhabits ponds, ditches and slow flow rivers, but in the river of the next video appears to be a middle-high flow. Can it live in a huge diversity of habitats? Is there also in small streams or rivulets?
I have also questions about plants. I would like to use Cryptocoryne spiralis, C. retrospiralis or C. ciliata It is correct? There are these species in Badis habitat?

In south india, I have found that Badis inhabit the still water found along the banks of Rivers. There is Presence of dense vegetation or a lot of algae where they are found. You can find Lots of killies, aplocheilus lineatus A. Blockii, and lots of barbs. I have never found them ponds.

Thank you so much rasikanayak!! Then a correct combination for a Shimoga River biotope would be Badis badis, Devario aequipinnatus and Cryptocoryne spiralis in a mixed bottom with sand and pebbles, no?
