@Preeths  -  the  leak  is  where  the  joints  are  when  we  close  the  head  ,  also  sometimes  from  near  the  clamp,  my  filter  worked  for  just  7  months,  do  you  think  i  can  repair  the  o  ring  by  applying  100%  petrolium  jelly?  The  ring  is  still  very  soft  and  i  cannot  see  any  break  ...

 Thanks

Clean  the  area  thoroughly,  then  apply  petroleum  jelly  to  the  O-ring,  and  to  the  Plastic  where  it  will  be  seated  and  to  the  inside  of  the  filter  bottom.  now  try  and  check  for  leaks.  similarly  apply  jelly  to  the  small  o  rings  also.

Did  the  baking  soda  trick  work  to  fix  the  broken  plastic?

O-Rings  are  usually  used  in  hydraulic  machines,  JCB's  and  the  like.  The  larger  ones  can  be  bought  there.  as  long  as  the  O-ring  is  Rubber  or  silicone(very  expensive  compared  to  rubber)  you  can  use  it.

these  O-Rings  are  near  the  inlet/outlet  detachment.  At  the  place  where  the  inlet  goes  into  the  pump  head.  exactly  on  the  part  that  fits  inside  where  the  filter  broke.

happened  to  me  -  it  simply  means  the  Oring  size  is  wrong.  You  should  not  have  to  stretch  the  o  ring  to  put  it  on  the  pump  head  except  may  be  about  1  cm  when  seating  it  on  the  pump  head.  if  you  had  to  streatch  the  o-ring,  then  it  would  have  become  thin  and  caused  the  leaks.  the  o  ring  should  be  5mm  thick  uniformly.

@preeths  ,  the  o  ring  size  was  correct  ,  i  had  not  stretched  it  ,  it  actually  fits  nicely  but  not  loosely  ,  the  problem  is  that  when  i  prime  the  filter  and  filter  is  full  of  water  and  then  water  finally  enters  the  filter  head  i  believe  to  be  pumped,  it  starts  leaking  from  the  clamps  attached  to  the  head  ...

I  even  searched  on  you  tube  and  made  the  very  tight  screws  in  clamps  loose  as  per  suggestions  but  no  avail  ,  the  filter  is  gone  just  after  7  months,  i  guess  one  gets  what  one  pays  ,  in  the  end  not  buying  these  cheap  chinese  junks  any  more  ....

Also  i  will  stick  with  Hang  On  the  back  filters  like  aquaclear  rather  then  canister  filters....

 Thanks
