My newly set ( 1 year) up low tech tank had lot of algae issues from diatoms bba gsa etc. I tried lot of things but nothing worked. Finally i decided to use H2O2 and it worked like a charm. I dumped it 3 hours in the tank before WC for past few weeks and since then no trace of any algae. Even the glass stays pretty clear. So far there is no harm to fish or plants.
Question: Has anybody tried this method? Is there any harm in using H2O2 say weekly/bi-weekly during WC?

Use of H2O2 for algae control is a very old method. you can use it weekly, just be sure not to over dose it. It will cause plants to melt if overdosed. if you have reoccurring algae problems then there is something wrong with the water parameters or you are over feeding the fish.
