Hey  all  the  best  for  your  endeavour!

Ive  got  a  37G+14G  sump  setup,  with  200W  of  DIY  LED  lighting  all  set  and  ready  for  livestock  but  either  costs  are  too  high  or  there  are  scamsters  in  the  market  just  looking  to  scalp  people  off  of  their  money  in  the  pretext  of  delivering  coral.

Corals  are  illegal  to  trade  in  India  which  Im  sure  you  must  be  aware.

Sometimes  I  wonder  if  it  is  even  ethical  to  promote  unlawful  harvesting/poaching  of  wildlife  for  our  pleasures.  But  then  theres  another  issue,  climate  change  and  increase  in  Ocean  acidity  is  killing  the  reefs  anyway  in  the  wild.  Maybe  they  can  survive  for  a  bit  longer,  might  be  even  possible  to  setup  a  breeding  centre  with  all  the  specimens  present  in  people's  tanks  to  repopulate  the  wild  reefs  should  the  need  come.

Anyway,  let  me  know  if  you  get  your  hand  on  some  live  corals  yourself,  Bangalore  is  probably  a  lot  better  than  where  I  live  for  the  marine  hobby.

Live  corals  are  mostly  illegal  to  keep  in  India.  Its  a  very  big  risk.

Would  be  interesting  if  you  could  start  with  just  live  rock  that  "had"  small  corals  on  it  by  accident.

Having  corals  is  illegal,  how  ever  you  got  them.  Usually  no  one  bothers  not  even  the  cops.....  but  if  you  get  unlucky  or  a  cranky  neighbor  or  disgruntled  friend  or  some  one  wants  to  pursue  a  vendetta  and  complains  to  the  police,  you  will  be  running  into  bars  for  the  next  5  years.

Technically,  only  "reef-building"  corals  are  banned.  As  a  result,  live  rock  is  banned  as  well.  Softies,  while  not  contributing  towards  construction  of  reefs,  are  indeed  corals,  should  you  ever  get  in  trouble  for  that,  good  luck  explaining  biology  to  the  cops  Chuckle

Ah  good,  then  dead  rock,  and  softies  (like  zoo's  and  mushrooms)  would  be  really  beautiful.

Even  the  dead  rock  is  also  banned  to  keep.
Law  is  not  very  clear...  It  says  trading  is  banned.  Keeping  is  still  a  question..  Its  a  debatable  topic...So  better  keep  mum..

Then  wood  decorations  would  work,  with  softie  corals  to  attach  to  them.
