Friends, after having a 3.5 feet for almost 5 years, moving on to a 4 feet glass tank. I'd appreciate your comments.
Tank - 48x18x18.
Substrate - a thin layer of laterite on the back bottom, ada amazonia soil (1 bag, just at bottom) and tropica plant soil (3 bags) - the thought process was not to have a full ammonia bloom as I read before.
Scape:- Dragon stone (big ones, and small ones - thinking canyon :-) )
Co2 - pressurized 3 Kg.
Lights - SunSun ADS-1050c (80w in wattage).
Plants:- I'm not sure about the light needs, but wanted denser planting in one go.
Background:-
Limnophila Aromatica (Purple) (15)
Ludwigia Inclinata var Cuba (10)
Ludwigia Arcuata (15)
Rotala Rotundifolia Red - bulk(200 nos)
Rotala Rotundifolia Green - bulk(200 nos)
Rotala Rotundifolia Hi Red (50)
Alternanthera Reineckii (15)
MidGround:-
Staurogyne Repens (10)
Ludwigia palustris
Alternanthera Reineckii mini (10) - again, not too sure with the lighting I have.
ForeGround:-
Hemianthus Micranthemoides monte carlo (bulk)-4 Nos
For rocks:-
Java Moss
Java Fern
Post initial weeks - ferts with DI and do have some NPK from Seachem as well.
Some snaps below, and a short video link as well. Comments/Suggestions :-) it's such a fulfilling ordeal. |

I got this done by the Aquarium Store (80 feet road, Indiranagar) - it's really strong and that's the reason I bought from them as I read the comments/reviews on the stand specifically.
I guess, cost info shouldn't be published in the forums. It's not costly. |

Eheim 2217 (Classic 600).
At the moment Co2 is working great (amazing tiny bubbles all around the tank, pushed by the filter outlet nozzle, I took the lily pipe nozzle one notch size down, so that I can get good force flow). Once all the plants start firing on all cylinders maybe a reactor might be better option.

Thanks for asking. The tank is maturing (my 3.5 feet broke on me :-( ). So had to introduce the inhabitants to the new tank much earlier (dumped the whole filter media from the old eheim pro3 to the 2217 and things picked up. Below is the snap of the tank as of now, I did a very generous hacking of the forest (keeping only the right side).
There is a diatom bloom just starting to happen, it's been 20 days since the tank is started. I was also wondering why do I have the whole tank giving a yellowish tint. I mean, diatoms to some extent and I see stray green algae on the moss. But always liked the aesthetics of ADA solar rgb and definitely not going to spend that much money on it. Just thinking what should I do to get that natural green colors pop-up.
Plants are pearling away like crazy, montecarlo has melted down and new growths spotted. Will wait and see. I think, I have too much flow in the tank.

Just to add. So far I had filled-in the tank with the tap water (high in TDS) with 70% water change, the TDS will still show 500+. That is the reason I believe the diatoms started (high silicates). Now I did a 70% RO water change into it (all cans). The TDS now is around 150+ (after a macro/micro dose which is supposed to elevate anyways). I could see the deposit changes on the rim of the tank. So far so good.
Have been loosely dosing once in a while (well, not regular at all) - macro and micro nutrients. Co2 is in full steam. Just ordered Purigen to put into the canister, will see.

Hi,
Thanks for the update .
Nice to see all emersed leaves and the tank maturing well. Yes, the tank has a unnatural tint.
One question-what temperature do you maintain? How do you maintain? |

I maintain it at about 25 degree Celsius. It was heating up with this light since I am keeping this kinda in a closed room. So I bought a fan (6 fan module from Boyu).
Wondering if someone has any suggestions for that yellow tint.

One month update. Purigen running and some heavy trimming done. Please see the snaps. I'm still having a lot of diatoms and in the look out for some help with Otos. Not available as of now :-( |
