Hii, after a long time i am finally ready to start a planted tank. Its my first attempt in DIY and dont want to splurge much so my budget is max 6k. The folowing are my tank specs .
Tank - 30x18x18
Filter - Hagen marina CF40 canister filter.
I live in mumbai , and after asking around a bit in kurla and other fishy places i got some conflicted recommendations. So heres what they have recommended in gist
Substrate - River sand / Amazonia / Potting mix
Fertilizers - Vermicomposts/liquid dosings
Lightings - T5 18-20w 3 tubes/ Pl 36 w tube light - 4 tubes
CO2 - Co2 cylinder / Co2 dosings.
So these were some conflicting recommendations of local lfs guys. Although i want to make it cheaply i dont want to skimp where it matters the most. So please give me some advice on what should i put in my planted tank and while doing that not end up breaking the bank. Thanks

sir, depends on low tech or high tech. CO2 injection or no CO2 (or liquid carbon dosing). The choice of plants depends on this. Substrate selection depends on plant selection. e.g. on a largely stones and driftwood with only epiphyte plants (anubias, ferns, mosses, buces), you can go ahead with an inert substate or sand also. Based on plants selection and tank depth and substrate height the lighting should be chosen and/or the timing should be adjusted.

Get pressurized CO2 first. If you do not have this, only simple plants will grow and you can have a simple scape.
Adding good lights / substrate / dosing will only cause algae with out CO2. Glut or Liquid CO2 is good only for a limited list of plants.
Once you get pressurised CO2, then concentrate on getting a Suitable substrate and micro and macro nutrients.
Good lights should be last on your list. with out the above good lights will only grow algae.

If your overall budget is just 6k, then pressurized co2 is out of question. You can go for diy co2 kit. Baking soda and citric acid. I am using that now from past 2 months and pretty much can grow almost all plants.
I dose ferts, amazonia and bright light.
