I have now spent nearly 15K on this dream and the sad part is that the sorry story continues, the latest being that i had to go out of town for a week and when i reached home i find load of dead decayed leaves floating around :(
I have tried all the possibility with same result - dead leaves floating around....

Since my last post there has been some progress.
I could just not dump these rhizome in trash because of cost i paid to buy them...
So i had moved them to plastic buckets in the balcony. For nearly 4 weeks, did weekly water changes and each time the water kept becoming dirty with no progress and continued leaves melting.
I thought probably since the bucket was blue in color it might be the light was not reaching the rhizome.
Purchased a transparent tub and moved them for 3 weeks now. The result is that a few new fresh leaves have grown...
Its kind of a small victory but still there is a large spot on the left with many rhizome that are yet to show progress, will keep on fighting and see if i could win over the problem of having a planted cichlid tank!!!...
