 Hello  everyone.

Always  wanted  to  have  a  large  outdoor  fish  tank  with  a  few  lotus  Plants  in  it.  Well,  I  made  one  using  Thermocol  boxes  and  Cement.  The  making  video  the  tank  is  linked  below.

 Part-1  Construction

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_TfhsJA4uWY

 Part-2  Painting,  Planting  &  Stocking

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_DWfdeFQUr8

 Materials  used:
 Thermocol  Box  3  nos.  Each  measuring  L  22  x  W  18  x  H  15  inches.
 Silicone  Gum.
 Aluminium  Wire
 12mm  Glass  measuring  50  x  12  inches.
PVC  pipe  cut  pieces  of  1-inch  diameter  and  0.75-inch  diameter
 Cement  &  Sand
Paints  -  Exterior  Wall  Primer  &  Exterior  Paint
Plants  -  Lotus  Plants  &  Azolla
Fish  -  Guppies,  Wakin  Goldfish  &  Mystery  Snail

 Tank  Dimensions:
The  inner  dimension  of  the  tank  after  plastering  is
 -  160cm  in  Length
 -  35cm  in  Width  and,
 -  27cm  in  Height
Which  effectively  holds  a  volume  of  150  liters.

I'm  planning  to  build  an  aquaponics  filtration  system  into  this  tank  which  is  going  to  come  out  in  the  next  part.

In  the  meantime,  as  shown  in  the  video,  I  have  put  Azolla  for  the  Goldfish  to  graze  on.  But  I  read  they  love  Duckweed  &  Wolffia.  Anyone  who  can  share  some  Duckweed  &  Wolffia.  I'm  staying  in  Hassan,  Karnataka.  I  keep  coming  to  Bangalore  now  and  then.

 Thanks  &  Regards

Interesting  build.  Whats  the  advantage  of  using  Thermocol  when  the  entire  tank  is  plastered  anyways?

Less  masonry  work,  Less  building  materials.
