Hi fellow hobbyists,
I’m planning to build a custom tank of 4ft length X 1.5ft width X 3ft height tank which will be placed on a void space on the wall. This will be having a head room of another 2ft for the lights and electricals. I’m planning to keep the filtration outside the house and was wondering if using a pressurized pond filter with a DC pump of 6000 ltr per hour capacity placed inside an acrylic partition in the corner will be a good idea? The advantage for me is that I can keep the filter on a sturdy shelf on the outside wall and can make a hole above the tank level for the input and output pipes. And the fact that the pond filter will have a back wash option which will be handy in cleaning the filter along with the water change.
Anyone one has done this before and is there any issues with this setup? If yes can anyone suggest a better option.
