 Unfortunately  the  eggs  are  missing  today  morning..either  they  got  spooked  by  my  photography  or  the  loaches  ate  them  in  the  night.

 O  Oh!!!  Sad  nature  has  ruined  my  chances  on  keeping  tank  bred  Canarensis  Sad   Smile  I  only  hope  that  they  have  learnt  the  art  of  breeding  in  captivity  Thumbs Up

 Hi  Beta,  congrats.
 
 Now  we  know  for  sure  that  these  species  of  fish  can  be  spawned  in  captivity,  Tim  had  done  so  eralier.  Are  these  the  same  ones  whihc  we  caught  in  the  wild  on  our  trip  ?

 You're  right.  I  always  had  a  gut  feeling  that  the  fish  copy  their  owners.  ROFL  There  is  not  much  privacy  anyhow  nowadays.  Chuckle

 Maybe  that's  the  secret.  Try  moving  them  to  a  tank  in  a  quite  corner,  where  they  will  not  be  disturbed.  Also  setup  a  web  camera  to  monitor  them.

 Congrats  Beta,
    Must  be  mixed  emotions  for  you.  The  first  Canarensis  spawn...  and  then  they  decide  to  clean  them  up  for  whatever  reason.
 
 Hopefully  like  other  cichlids  they  lay  eggs  and  this  time  "breed"  in  another  2-3  weeks.
 
 All  the  best.  Do  keep  us  posted.
