 Hi

   @  aquaflyer

      The  plants  have  been  collected  over  a  period  of  nearly  1  year.  Some  I  purchased  some  were  exchanged  from  hobbyists  and  a  couple  were  actually  bought  from   a  LFS.  Now  ofcourse  things  are  simpler,  it  has  been  much  more  easier  to  get  plants  over  the  last  few  months.

   @  rana

      Thanks!  I  use  my  borewell  water   which  in  my  area  is  surprisingly  at  a  6.7ph  the  kh  is  at  7  I  have  never  checked  the  gh  as  never  have  found  the  need  to.  Apart  from  this  Ofcourse  the  ammonia  in  the  tank  is  at  0  so  is  the  nitrite.  This  is  all  the  parameters  I  test.

 how  you  did  take  care  of  algae.

          When  the  tank  was  reset  and  started  abt  12  months  ago  I  had  more  varities  of  algea  than  plants  in  it.  Chuckle   but  then  came  across  the  article  of  Estimative  index  by  tom  barr.  This  was  a  serious  truning  point.  It  was  like  making  a  "u"  turn  as  the  old  idea  of  more  nutrients  can  cause  algea  was  changed  to  more  nutrients  will  not  let  algea  be  formed.

      The  idea  from  then  on  was  simple  I  increased  my  dosing  from  once  a  week  to  3  times  a  week  and  Kept  the  co2  level  at  approx  32ppm.  The  tank  should  have  high  lighting  and  should  be  well  planted.  This  took  care  of  the  algea  within  4  weeks.  From  then  on  there  hasnt  been  any  algea  in  the  tank.
 Weekly  I  change  50%  of  water.  On  a  personal  note  have  realised  that  if  you  follow  one  particular  theory  well  it  works  This  has  worked  great  for  me.
      The  tank  has  been  stable  now  for  over  9  months  now  Ofcourse  now  I  want  a  bigger  tank   Chuckle

    Hope  this  has  answerd  your  question.

    Regards
       Harshal.

 Wow  great  tank  dude.  I  really  wanted  to  have  a  tank  just  like  this  as  of  now  I  just  have  the  same  size  way  to  go  for  me.  How  did  you  do  it  give  me  some  tips  of  your  substrate  (mixture  used)  and  what  else  did  you  do.

 It  is  spectacular  and  as  you  mentioned  when  you  sit  before  it  you  really  forget  all  the  pain  you  woudl  have  gone  through  to  make  this  happen.

 Cheers,
 Karna  Clapping

 hi

   @karna

    Thanks!!  The  substrate  is  a  mixture  of  red  mud  (1  inch)  2  handfuls  of  peat  moss,  #  inches  of  Haridwar  sand.  The  real  break  through  happened  when  I  hit  the  sweet  spot  with  dosing.  That  my  friend  is  trial  and  error  with  helpful  nutrient  calculators  from  chuck  gadd!!
    Good  lights,  a  decent  co2  system  and  good  filtration  are  a  must!!

 @T2CHATTO

      Thanks!!

   Regards
    Harshal.
