 Trevor

I  have  a  few  questions  on  the  advertisement  -  if  it  has  peat  moss  then  how  is  it  that  it  does  not  have  organics?  Also,  they  are  calling  it  a  compost,  which  is  supposed  to  mean  there  is  some  decomposition  somewhere.  It  would  be  nice  to  know  the  propotion  in  which  the  three  are  mixed,  that  is  -  perlite,  vermiculite  and  peat  moss.
I  was  talking  about  just  vermiculite  -  the  mineral,  and  then  mixing  it  with  loam.

I  have  used  and  am  using  vermiculite  for  some  plants.  Growth  is  okay  but  nothing  spectacular.  I  have  used  vermiculite  mixed  with  laterite  and  gravel  in  the  ratio  1:1:4.
As  usual  the  top  layer  is  only  cleaned  gravel.  May  need  more  time  to  be  conclusive  as  I  have  used  it  for  echinodorus  'Red  flame'  and  'Red  Diamond'.

 Trevor,
Have  you  used  Soilrite  or  Soilrite  TC  ever.  This  seems  to  contain  Irish  Peat  Moss..  which  should  be  similar  to  the  Canadian  Sphagham  moss.  The  site  says  5.0  to  6.5  as  pH.
