You  mean  bore  well  water.  Most  of  the  time  this  water  is  hard.

 Swapnils,

We  use  bore  water,  drinking  water  from  corporation,  distilled  water  and  mineral  water  from  the  store!

Let  us  know  what  fish  you  want  to  keep,  and  we  will  help  you  select  the  best  water  source  for  it,  as  different  fish  need  water  with  different  parameters!

If  what  you  are  looking  for  is  not  breeding  soft  water  fishes,  most  fish  could  do  quite  well  in  bore-well  a.k.a  hard  water.

Cichlids  will  love  bore  well  water  Very Happy
Make  sure  you  store  the  water  for  a  while  before  putting  it  into  the  tank,  Bore  well  water  contains  lot  of  dissolved  gases  which  should  be  allowed  to  stablize.

Most  of  the  fishes  you  mention  will  do  well  in  borewell  water.  Like  Rahul  mentioned,  treat  your  borewell  water  the  same  way  as  you  treat  tap  water.  Aerate  for  a  day  and  then  use  it.

However  if  you  are  buying  fishes  new,  then  condition  them  by  slowly  getting  them  acclimatised  to  your  water.

I  have  been  using  regular  tap  water  along  with  dechlorinator  for  the  last  2  years  with  no  problems.  I  keep  red  bellly  piranhas,  angelfish,  discus,  rainbow  fish,  gouramis,  goldfish  etc....in  diffrent  tanks  of  course.

Bore  water,  and  tap  water  are  very  ambiguous  terms.  My  borewell  water  is  very  different  from  the  borewell  water  that  Trevor  might  get  in  his  house.  And  my  tap  water  is  very  different  from  what  Chennai  people  get  from  their  corporation!

It  will  be  a  good  solution  ...  but  RO  purified  water  is  the  best,  nothing  beats  RO  water.  Thumb Up
