 Nice.

Kunal,  please  make  sure  that  the  rhizome  of  the  ferns  is  not  buried  in  the  substrate,  else  it  will  rot.  Since  you  already  have  driftwood,  I  would  recommend  that  you  move  them  on  there.

One  more  suggestion.  Move  your  powerhead  to  one  end  of  the  tank  behind  the  Vallisneria  where  it  will  be  hidden  from  direct  view.

Move  your  ferns  on  to  the  driftwood  and  add  cryptocorynes  on  the  gravel.  A  planted  low-tech  tank  doesn't  necessarily  have  to  look  bare.

 Deepak,
will  take  out  the  ferns  and  plant  them  on  the  driftwood.  do  i  just  tie  the  ferns  to  the  driftwood  using  some  black  thread?

 Suraj,
dont  have  any  crypts.  nearly  all  the  plants  are  courtsey  Deepak.  i  had  the  power  head  behind  the  vals.  but  the  filteration  wasn't  that  effective.  there  was  suspended  matter  inside  the  tank.  will  a  HOB  filter  be  more  suitable?  i  also  dont  like  the  power  in  full  view  but  alas  Sad

 shubhi,
only  the  vals  are  from  Lucknow.  all  the  other  plants  are  from  Bangalore  (sorry  dont  like  the  other  name  of  Bangalore   Thumb Up  ).  you  have  to  wait  and  wait  in  Allahabad  for  some  good  supplies!!

need  some  advice  urgently..  i  am  going  out  of  town  for  close  to  10  days.  my  servant  can  feed  the  fishes  but  do  i  need  to  take  any  extra  precautions  with  the  tanks?  i  am  more  concerned  with  the  planted  tank!  going  to  clean  out  the  big  one  today  so  that  when  i  leave,  i  have  a  clean  tank  and  happy  fishes!!

 Hi,
 1.  Do  regular  maintenance,  if  it  would  be  due  during  your  absence.
 2.  Make  sure  the  servant  does  not  overfeed,  ask  him/her  to  look  out  for  leftovers  before  adding  the  second  feed.
 3.  Best  fed  once  on  alternate  days.  Less  won’t  cause  harm.
 4.  I  would  forget  about  PMDD  dosing,  etc.
 5.  Lights  â€“  best  put  on  timer  if  the  manual  on/off  is  not  possible.  Time  8-10  hrs./  day.

Do  not  make  last  minute  arrangements  /  changes  to  the  existing  setup;  you  may  tend  to  forget  something  in  the  whole  process.

The  crypts  do  extremely  well  is  a  matured  aquarium  along  with  rich  substrate  (with  laterite).  They  are  very  sensitive  to  sudden  water  changes.

even  i  dont  know.  i  guess  the  cold  killed  them.  it  got  pretty  cold  in  Allahabad.  it  could  be  the  filteration  too.  just  have  a  top  filter  running  in  the  tank.the  2217  is  running  on  the  big  tank.  no  problems  there.
