Hello  everyone.  I  have  always  believed  that  for  me  to  be  a  good  hobbyist  i  should  try  and  breed  every  fish  i  have  and  if  any  fish  is  rare  or  endangered  i  should  help  in  its  conservation  as  i  feel  it  is  my  duty  being  an  aquarium  enthusiast  (if  that  fits  fine).  I  always  wanted  to  have  some  rare  fish  that  i  could  spread  around,  did  it  with  plants  when  i  was  home  but  now  i  have  an  opportunity  to  send  across  some  nice  fish  (wild  bettas)  to  people  who  i  think  are  well  experienced  in  keeping  them  and  breeding  them.  But  what  i  would  want  to  know  is  that  will  they  be  wiling  to  breed  them  and  spread  them  around.  Of  course  i  have  to  practical  and  i  hence  cannot  ask  you  to  donate  all  fish  for  charity,  i  propose  20%  of  every  spawn?  What  say?  The  fish  will  be  betta  (brownorum,  Falx,  Channoides  and  albimarginata).  Hoping  i  can  send  them  to  Rahul  (retro)  and  Venkat  (vkv).  So  will  you  guys  be  interested  in  taking  this  up?  I  don't  know  when  will  this  happen  but  i  just  wanted  to  know.  Maybe  i  will  send  them  across  with  someone  in  feb  or  march.  Will  let  you  guys  know  well  in  advance  so  that  you  can  set  up  tanks  for  them.

A  request  for  moderators  or  adminstrators,  if  this  project  does  go  through  can  it  be  put  up  as  a  sticky  thread?

I  hope  one  of  you  can  do  the  same  same  for  the  Dario  Dario.

Sure  Beta,  was  planning  on  finding  out  about  some  Macrostomas  for  you  actually.  Not  very  expensive  the  tank  bred  ones.  So  i  dont  mind  sending  them  for  you  to  bred  if  you  are  upto  it?  I  will  keep  the  Albis  in  mind,  i  am  just  waiting  to  get  my  pairs  soon.  So  will  send  one  of  mine  itself.

Banjohead  (dude  is  that  your  actual  name?  I  would  be  happy  to  know  this),  you  are  a  native  fish  junkie  right?  So  get  some  fish  that  no  one  is  able  to  breed,  gather  maximum  information  from  all  the  experienced  people  here  and  then  spread  them  around.  Maybe  Dario  Dario.  They  dont  need  much  of  space.

 Guys,

Appreciate  that!   Clapping  Nice  to  see  more  and  more   hobbyists  being  concerned  about  dwindling  wild  species  and  spreading  accross  the  hobbysts.  Keep  up  the  good  work!   Thumbs Up

I  too  have  a  similar  mindset,  but  planning  to  breed  some  native  species.  Will  update  you  guys  as  soon  as  I  get  my  hands  on  some.  Smile

 Regards
 Prasoon

No  Problems  Beta,  will  check  for  the  Simorum  too.  I  now  know  a  lot  of  people  from  or  should  i  say  all  the  important  people  from  AAGB  (anabantoid  association  of  Great  Britain),  so  sourcing  should  be  esy  if  it  is  there  in  UK  with  any  of  them.  Also  are  you  looking  for  anything  specific?

Hi  Neil,  the  reason  for  asking  your  name  was  just  that  its  nicer  to  know  the  name  of  the  person  who  i  am  interacting  with.  As  for  the  Dario,  i  am  sure  some  guys  in  Bangalore  can  source  it  for  you,  its  was  really  cheap.  So  try,  it  is  just  that  if  we  hobbyists  can  create  a  pool  of  fish  then  we  will  not  have  to  run  to  shops  to  buy  fish  which  are  wild  caught.

Venkat  has  also  confirmed  his  willingness  to  participate  in  this  breeding  project.  I  am  now  waiting  for  Rahul  to  get  online  and  hopefully  agree  too.  Good  going  guys.
