 Hi,
I  am  Dini,   self  employed.I  have  been  keeping  the  fishes  (Cichlids)  here  in  Bangalore  since  two  years  and  I  am  already  hooked  to  it.I  have  lost  lots  of  fishes  while  trying  to  come  this  far.At  present  I  have  Red  Severums  abouts  5  inches  long  and  two  Jaguars  about  6  inches  long  ,all  raised  from  babies.  Tanksize  is  3ft  X1.5ft  X1.5ft.I  am  also  raising  6  green  severums   juveniles  in  a  seperate  tank.I  wish  to  concentrate  on  Severums  and  catfishes  only.  Space  is  a  big  constraint  so  also  water.

 Regards

 Hello  friends,
Am  new  here  but  old  for  the  hobby  of  fishkeeping.  Had  a  fish  tank  during  my  college  days  but  gave  it  up  in  between.  Rekindled  the  hobby  about  a  couple  of  years  ago  with  a  (3.5*2*2  ft  tank)  only  for  goldfish.  Later  on  went  on  to  add  a  (3*1.25*1.25ft)  planted  tank  +  discuss  fish.  I  have  Orandas  4  pairs  about  5  inches  long  (body  lenght  only)  +  bala  shark  1  pair  +  2  pairs  platinum  angels  +  1  pair  black  ryukin.

The  smaller  planted  tank  has  2  pairs  of  discus,  4  inches  (have  them  since  about  4  months)  +  3  varieties  of  corys  +  1  spotted  pleco  +  1  flying  fox  +  a  few  tetras  and  a  pair  of  golden  algae  eater.

I  am  into  the  IT  recruitment  space  and  have  been  a  Bangalorean  by  birth

 Hi,

This  is  nash  from  delhi.  I  am  an  IT  Dip  and  currently  working  with  american  express.  Rather  new  to  the  saltwater  world  however  have  been  with  freshwater  for  over  3  yrs  now.  I  am  complete  DIY  fanatic  and  even  build  my  own  tank.

My  dream  would  be  to  build  a  complete  self  reliable  ecosystem  someday  without  the  need  of  any  mechanical  /  chemical  filteration  or  atleast  the  bare  minimum.  I  have  heard  and  read  of  many  people  achieving  this  on  large  tanks  like  400G  +  but  if  i  can  someday  try  to  do  this  for  120G

Look  forward  and  i  am  indeed  glad  to  have  found  this  forrum  and  to  know  there  are  so  many  keen  ppl  like  me  out  there  in  our  country.  I  so  wish  our  laws  were  relaxed  and  we  had  open  trade  so  that  we  could  also  get  the  best  of  products  at  the  right  prices.

 Cheers
 Nash

 Hello  all,

New  to  this  hobby,  but  I  have  brain  the  size  of  jupiter,  a  voracious  appetite  for  knowledge,  the  "weird"  gene,  the  "perfectionist"  gene,  love  of  the  ocean  etc  etc  etc.

Planning  to  start  a  build  log  for  my  ...  well  how  should  i  put  it...  my  30  gallon  planted  aquarium  soon  to  be  converted  to  a  30  gallon  FOWL  setup  which  is  soon  to  be  converted  to  a  sump/refugium  for  my  yet  to  come  240  gallon  reef  tank...

In  the  meanwhile,  for  people  who  are  Google  Sketchup  users,  my  new  house  which  (like  my  tank)  is  also  under  construction,  has  been  sketched  to  scale  just  so  I  could  claim  my  "do  bigha  jameen"  in  it  for  my  tank  to  be

 Here's  the  link  -  >  http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=c75f18621bcb45d844c01cba0c05ac11

PS  :  I  read  somewhere  that  aquarium  keeping  (globally)  is  the  second  biggest  hobby  after  photography.  On  photography  ..  been  there  done  that  and  quit  when  the  digital  world  invaded  the  poor  film  roll...  now  on  to  the  the  second  biggest  hobby

 Hi,

I  am  Amrit  from  Pune,  and  came  upon  this  wonderful  site  while  surfing.  I  was  in  the  freshwater  pisciculture  business  for  a  while,  where,  along  with  a  couple  of  friends,  we  reared  freshwater  fishes  such  as  the  Major  and  Minor  Indian  Carps,  and  exotic  Chinese  Carps,  along  with  the  Giant  Freshwater  Prawn  "macrobrachium  rosenbergii".

I  have  been  a  freshwater  aquarium  hobbyist  for  over  30  years  now,  but  not  doing  anything  really  spectacular  or  unusual.  I  love  growing  live  plants  in  the  aquaria  to  add  beauty  and  provide  a  natural  environment  for  the  fishes  that  I  keep.  At  one  point  in  time,  I  had  over  30  different  varieties  of  plants  in  my  community  aquarium,  but  did  not  know  most  by  names.

I  scaled  down  my  collection  of  aquaria  by  gifting  some  of  the  aquaria  to  friends  to  help  them  enjoy  the  hobby.  I  now  have  two  aquaria  that  I  built  myself.

Would  love  to  restart  collecting  the  plants,  though  it  is  very  difficult  to  get  healthy  ones  that  will  survive  with  my  amateur  skills.
