Now  that  I  have  decided  not  to  keep  any  turtles,  any  suggestions  for  what  other  fish  to  put  in  with  my  existing  collection?

How  big  are  the  giant  gouramis??  If  they  are  small  and  growing,  then  I  think  the  tiger  barbs  will  become  Gourami  Fodder  pretty  soon.  And  also,  Giant  gouramis  can  reach  a  size  of  almost  20".  Then  you  might  fall  short  of  space  in  your  big  tank.

It  is  funny  that  you  mentioned  this.  Around  2  days  back  my  daughter  called  and  told  me  that  one  of  the  Tiger  Barbs  has  vanished.  I  guess  I  know  who  the  culprit  is.

I  presume  you  have  extensive  experience  with  fresh  water  turtles?

No  problem.  I  recently  lost  2  White  Sharks  (13"  long),  1  Giant  Gourami,  &  2  Piranhas  all  due  to  my  negligence  after  the  DIY  filter  stopped  working.  I  kept  changing  the  water  often  but  I  guess  that  was  not  good  enough.  I  now  have  a  Eheim  filter  installed  and  it  is  working  just  fine.

I  really  miss  my  2  White  Sharks,  they  were  the  star  attraction  in  my  tank,  they  were  tough  guys  who  lasted  for  3  years.

Here  onwards,  I  will  be  pretty  careful.

Any  suggestions  as  to  what  other  fish  I  could  add  to  my  tank?

What  is  left  in  the  tank?  You  can  go  in  for  cichlids  if  your  parrots  are  still  there.  Ask  the  cichlid  experts  on  ther  forum  for  advice.  because  honestly,  I'm  not  a  cichlid  person.  They  are  awesome  fish  and  will  make  you  proud.

I  have  a  5X2X2  Aquarium  with  3  Giant  Goura's,  4  Pearl  Gurrami's,  2  Red  Parrots,  7  Tiger  Barbs,  1  sucker  catfish.  There  is  obviously  a  lot  of  space  in  the  aquarium.  No  plants,  just  white  pebbles  on  the  bottom,  an  airpump  as  well  as  a  good  filter.

 Hi  TIMS,
Another  one  bites  the  dust.  Now  the  Tiger  Barb  count  is  5  as  of  this  morning.  Smile
 Gopi

Get  the  poor  Frightened  barbs  out  and  return  them  to  the  LFS.  I  think  the  Pearl  Gouramis  would  be  next  in  line.  Giant  Gouramis  can  be  quite  nasty  at  times....so  why  take  the  chance.
