 Hi  Tirtha,
Indeed  very  beautiful  tank  but  you  have  mistaken  at  one  very  crucial  stage  of  setting  rocks  in  Amano  planted  tank  o  any  other  planted  tank.  When  you  plant  any  stone  you  hav  to  plant  it  when  u  are  adding  the  substrate  layer.  As  in  when  u  added  your  laterite  soil  layer  just  after  that  you  have  to  set  the  rocks  according  to  your  setup.  Smile  And  after  that,  one  more  layer  of  Laterite  soil  so  that  the  stone  gets  natural  look  as  in  the  stone  is  naturally  inside  that  substrate  not  just  kept.  That  gives  it  natural  look  and  when  you  dont  do  it,  it  results  in  wrong  placement  and  look  unnatural.  Sad

I  wish  i  could  have  that  much  space  and  money  to  setup  new  tanks.  Drinking

PS:  Not  faking  anything  it  is  ma  own  personal  experience,  if  i  get  cam  i  will  upload  pics  of  ma  work  in  progress  Amano  Tank.

 -AK
 Rock On

Ak  ....  thanks  for  the  detailed  sugession.  Actually  I  have  done  exactly  you  have  told  above  long  before.  But  the  scape  messed  up  as  I  was  not  aware  about  the  size  and  growth  pattern  of  the  plants  I  have  used  their.

But  once  I  have  setup  the  tank,  if  I  found  anything  wrong,  I  have  only  2  options  to  opt.  Either  Change  the  plants  or  change  the  scape.  So  I  tried  the  second  one.  But  as  I  am  following  the  deshi  multi  layered  substrate,  It  is  not  possible  to  get  all  the  flexibilities  to  play  arround.  If  we  can  use  a  singale  layered  substrate  like  Aquasoil,  then  we  will  have  lots  of  other  ways  to  make  things  perfect.

yeh  thats  the  problem  deshi  multi  layered  substrate   Surprised  (nice  name).  because  of  this  reason  i  am  using  only  cuba.  Actually  i  was  goin  to  use  only  3  layers  of  laterite  soil  but  i  used  6  dude  to  which  the  stones  hav  become  smaller  than  what  i  expcted  according  to  the  aquascaping.  Dude  to  which  i  am  using  only  1cm  layer  of  Decor  Sand.  Sad  which  is  too  risky.

So  now  what  goin  to  do  with  those  stones?  I  think  don  use  it  because  it  is  really  stealing  beauty  of  your  tank.  I  am  saying  this  because  i  really  loved  u  tank.  Smile

BTW  how  we  can  upload  pics  in  here?  So  that  i  can  upload  ma  work  in  here?[Smile]

@AK:  first  request,  please  stop  writing  in  all  bold.

And  what  do  you  mean  by  6  layers  of  laterite??  And  1cm  sand  top  of  Laterite  is  certainly  not  a  good  idea.  Try  to  make  the  sand  layer  minimum  1.5",  otherwise  laterite  will  leak  into  water  column  and  will  result  dirty  water  as  well  as  algae.

It  will  be  really  nice  if  you  can  start  a  separate  thread  with  all  of  your  tank  spec  and  photos  instead  of  adding  them  into  this  thread.  Upload  your  photos  to  www.photobucket.com  and  add  the  img  tag  into  your  post.  This  way  you  can  attach  picture  in  your  post.

Boss,  pls  learn  to  do  a  proper  layout  and  then  suggest  seniors.  I  know  that  lots  of  people  gobble  up  literatures  from  net  and  ADA  and  think  that  they  have  nearly  mastered  the  art,  but  when  you  do  it  in  practical,  mother  nature  brings  you  to  your  place  and  shows  that  you  are  a  novice  like  many  of  us.

 No  offence  dude.

I  am  extremely  sorry  for  writing  in  bold  i  did  not  knew  that  we  are  not  supposed  to  use  bold  letters.  Smile

Sorry,  it  is  more  than  1cm  and  by  6  layers  means  i  used  6  packets  making  it  6  layers.

And  other  guy  sorry  yeh  i  know  i  am  novice  and  i  am  a  beginner.  Smile  I  will  not  suggest  the  seniors  from  now.  Very Happy

Karthik.....  in  this  tank  I  have  added  Rummynose,  H.  Rasbora  and  Dario  Dario.  Sorry  that  the  tank  is  not  in  a  state  to  click  a  photo  right  now.  As  the  Temp  rised,  Blyxas  melted  away.  HC  simply  refused  to  grow.  Only  HM's  are  growing  like  a  weed.

I  am  planning  to  install  a  cooling  fan  and  will  do  some  resetting.  Then  for  sure  will  back  with  the  photos.

Before  I  loose  the  Tank  for  ever,  let  me  update  the  current  situation.  Blyxa  and  HC  were  growing  superb  but  for  last  10  days  water  Temp  touching  30  degree.  Lost  all  the  blyxa  and  HC  before  I  blink  my  eyes.   Crying or Very sad

But  I  am  fortunate  enough,  that  I  got  a  superb  growth  of  HM.  Without  even  bother  about   the  increasing  temparature,  HM  is  growing  like  weed.  They  have  been  pruned  n  numbers  of  time  to  keep  them  in  a  shape.  And  due  to  repeated  pruning  they  created  a  Thick  bush  (Real  Thick!).  Take  a  look  at  the  tank  as  of  today.

 Modifications:

 1.  Planning  to  create  another  HM  bush  at  the  right  corner  as  Blyxa  wiped  off.

 2.  Removed  all  the  stones  from  the  tank,  and  introduced  a  Driftwood  with  Anubias  nana  and  Petite.  The  rock  on  the  wood  is  just  temporary  arrangement  to  keep  it  down.

 3.  Stopped  using  Excel  long  before,  Introduced  DIY  CO2  with  Glass  diffuser.

 4.  Added  Rummynose,  H.  Rasbora  and  Dario  Dario  4  each.

 5.  Spike  up  the  Lights  from  23watt  to  47watt.

 6.  Continuing  with  EI  (Measurement  is  equals  to  the  dose  for  a  20G  tank)  but  for  last  5  days  started  changing  water  twice  an  week.

7.Added  some  E.  Pervula  at  the  FG  but  am  sure  they  won't  spread.   Chuckle

Touch  Wood,  somehow  I  am  able  to  keep  algae  at  Bay  from  the  first  day  for  this  tank.
