Cheering   Cheering   Cheering  Laughing  all  the  way  home......  ROFL   ROFL   ROFL   posted  the  above  comment  and  left  home  to  get  some  printer  ink  cartridge.  Managed  to  come  home  with  a  flower  Horn.  The  LFS  guy  in  sivajnagar  was  selling  them  dirt  cheap!!!  I  could  not  say  no  to  that  price!!!  And  it  had  a  bit  of  red  color  when  I  bought  it  this  morning.

Stupid  thing  is  I  realized  that  I  don’t  have  a  tank  at  home  to  keep  the  FH.

Ran  to  the  local  LFS  and  got  the  biggest  fish  bowl  I  could  get  my  hands  on.

I  know  these  fish  get  really  big,  thing  is  I’m  getting  a  5  footer  tank  by  mid  may.  The  current  GT  tank  is  going  to  be  emptied  into  the  5  footer,  so  this  poor  guy  is  stuck  in  the  bowl  for  30-40  days  till  then,  he  will  be  moving  into  the   30G  after  that.

raindeepak4u  that  is  a  flower  horn  u  got  there,  mine  turned  into  a  similar  color  at  home  though  he  appeared  to  be  red  in  color  at  the  lfs.

Still  cant  stop  laughing,  the  whole  setup  cost  me  less  that  an  Epson  black  ink  cartridge  for  CX7300  printer,  go  figure  the  price!!!  ROFL

The  bowl  makes  him  look  big;  he's  just  2  inches  and  needs  the  time  as  quarantine  any  way.  So  I  am  not  going  to  put  him  in  with  the  others.

He  fought  with  the  air  stone  for  some  time.  Now  he  is  doing  well.

Doing  detailed  research  about  flower  horn  fish.  Found  a  very  good  site  giving  good  info  about  FH.

 Hi  Preeths,
How  frequent  and  %  is  your  wc  for  the  bowl?  How  do  you  maintain  temperature  in  the  bowl?
My  opinion  is  that  you  could  have  bought  a  small  rectangular  aquarium  for  the  same  price  as  the  bowl  since  aquarium  will  have  larger  surface  area  than  these  bowls.

Reducing  the  level  of  water  in  bowls  may  increase  its  surface.btw.  even  plastic  tubs  can  be  tried  which  should  cost  you  around  60-70rs.These  tubs  can  hold  more  than  30lt  of  water  easily.

You  can  use  your  tub  for  bathing  or  washing  once  you  get  your  5footer   Very Happy

Using  tubs  is  a  good  idea,  but  you'll  need  to  keep  it  covered...Same  goes  double  for  the  bowl.  Due  to  its  limited  space,  the  FH  is  likely  to  jump  out...

So  keep  it  covered  at  all  costs   Sad
