Hi guys,
I bought a new tank. My tank measurements are 36" 18" 21" length width and height respectively. water capacity is around 50 gallons. I got 2 flowerhorns. One is 4.5" and another one is 3 inch. I partitined it into 2 parts. 10" and 8". I was using boyu 1500 l/h submersible filter in one side. another side i dont have any filter. is it necessary i need second filter. If it is must i want to buy top filter of capacity 600 l/h to 1000l/h. How many bucks the cost of it in boyu or atman.
For food which brand can i use. some one suggest me Oceanfree humpy head and oceanfree redsync. experts suggest me the brand. Looking for your valuble suggestions.
Thank you.

Srinu,
Humpy Head is a good food. On coloration front If you can get Hikari Bio-Gold+ would be better .I have been using both have got good results.
Please share your tank photos as well .

srinu, use top filter instead of power filter
top filter works better. from my experience , i can tell you that flower horns don't like the water flow of power head.
Oceanfree humpy head and oceanfree redsync are good
you can also give them prawn pieces, start with a small amount.
the best is beef heart,it will enhance the color of the flower horn.
but if you use high "protein value food" then you have to change tank water much more regularly.
best of luck |

avoid those ocean free stuff or any other enhancing foods
as they are hormone loaded junk, not good
they tend to stress the fish if fed regularly
also hormone loaded foods and enhancing foods reduce the life of a FH and also might cause diseases
(just my personal experience and opinion)
a good diet for FH
start with FH baby pellets along with dried shrimp and small earthworms
as they get bigger you caan move on to food sticks, dried shrimp, earthworms, beef heart, chicken heart, and for once in a while treat give ghost shrimps or any quarantined feeders(i never feed feeders, but some people say whats the point in keeping a fish which eats other fish and not feed it live fish) |

your tank is way too small for 2 FH's, one might be ok..initially..first inrease the Tank size..other wise their growth will be very less and they will get stunted..
Use Beef Hart, Prawns...Just make sure you buy the original Humpy Head, not a duplicate.. |

Ocean free humpy head is good, try to get your hand on chingmix or nls..
MP would also do great job in getting hump and a weekly treat of Bloodworms.
Share the picture of your tank. Clean water is the secret to Humpy Flowerhorn. |

Humpy head food is best and Starry for colouration and spots, both are from Ocean Free.
Please do not feed it with any other food like prawns, chicken heart etc. Your FH will eventually get some form of infection and die.

Prem |
